Lookin forward to hearing what she says. At this point, I only expect some sporadic, isolated attempts to intimidate which most likely won’t amount to anything “intimidating.” Speaking of which, we have had a lone, creepy protester around our field office (no harm, but kinda scary, to be honest, to see someone willing to spend lotta time doing that), and that sort of thing sure will happen here and there. But, there is no way they can implement highly organized operations of intimidating people that are effective enough to suppress voters AND law-abiding enough not to get arrested.
Having said that, I do hope too the DOJ will be watching that filthy Nazi-frog.
Maddow did an examination of the consent decree business, including trump’s sister’s role in it through her marriage to the guy who defended the Rs in the 80s. I’d never heard it explained so thoroughly. Campaign surrogates seem to be willfully ignoring it while RNC people are in a cold sweat.
As if an inkjet printed “poll watcher” badge would pass muster at any polling place!
Here in PA, the board of elections issues poll watcher certificates with a raised seal and the watcher has to check in with the precinct’s judge of elections in order to be permitted to be a watcher.
That’s my greatest fear too. Those goofs who take their rifles to a Chili’s in Texas aren’t likely to kill anyone. But there are random people out there unstable enough to act on the rhetoric.
Good thing the Roberts court gutted the Voting Rights Act - nothing to see here, move along, just your friendly neighborhood “poll watchers” … it’s so flipping obvious at this point, it would not shock me to see the Trump campaign create poll watch uniforms complete with white hoods.
Sounds like a conspiracy to commit voter intimidation charge to me. Of course, the Justice Dept. may not think it worthwhile to wake up from their cozy snooze for.
Exactly, they’re going to be in for quite a treat if they think they’re going to be able to intimidate minority voters. That shit may work with other white people, but it’ll only invite devastating ridicule and possibly a trip to jail. Oh, and as for that gun on your hip, the hood’s got bigger, badder, better guns.
“Stand Your Ground” has proven a very effective get out of jail free card in the states having such a law on the books. All a black person has to do is vigorously push away some knucklehead hectoring him for being a fraudulent voter and “BLAM!!!”
“Officer, my friend has it all recorded on his cell phone, look at the guy, he attacked me!!”
Roger also planned for a select group of hotter volunteers to receive vibrating ID badges and cock rings in secret meetings deep within his fur-lined sub-sub-basement…
Yeah, leaving and arriving in the same bus. They expect it to be easy to identify whomever they think is involved. The only way they could determine if someone isn’t who they are claiming is to be right at the tables where the poll worker is speaking with the voter while the voter is reading their supposed name off an index card. Every place I’ve ever voted the poll worker asks you your name and your address and expects a prompt response. What these thugs really want is to take over the ballot box with their guns.
Trump had the nerve to give his usual “get shot for walking outside in black neighborhoods” spiel in Sanford, Florida. Y’know, the same Sanford where Trayvon Martin was gunned down by George Zimmerman? Yeah.
