I’d be curious to know the legal statutes that might be pertinent in the case of a campaign’s surrogates conspiring with political fugitives, felons, and hostile foreign governments. I know that karma has been trying to draw a bead on Roger Stone for 40 years, but can we maybe GET HIM this time?!?

It’s a fair ask. Now that Assange appears to be freelancing with or without Russian help, there is potentially some peril to individuals who, for instance, facilitate Assange’s release of hacked e-mails. Part of having a free press requires giving a lot of latitude to entities that receive information without themselves breaking laws to obtain it. This has been the law since the Pentagon Papers were released by Daniel Ellsberg.
Assange hates women. Isn’t that pretty clear by now?
I have to say this brings a few things to mind:
- Can it actually be proven that this data/e-mails all really came from where they say they came?
- It puts into question whether the data released are being gamed/modified/selected to actively harm one party, with clear motivation to help the other. Which lowers any impact they might have dramatically.
- It shows just how pathetic “Wikileaks” now is. They’ve become that which they purported to be against.

The general perception is bad, because again Assange is hoping tha BoJo will forget that he’s still holed up in that embassy.
So any possible Stone association is something that the press might want to ask him about.
Now Assange could still be charged under the Espionage Act (if he hasn’t already) ,but right now its more of perception than anything.
The more time goes by, the more Wikileaks and Assange look like pathetic international versions of James O’Keefe.
