This is the least of our worries.
Articles like this should come with numbers. How much is the rent, how much is Trump making off this sleaze. I think they would have a greater impact on the readers.
Question: Before 11/8/2016, had another venue been booked by the RNC, and then the party location changed after the election?
The Republican party is flushing its future on Trump, and if you can step back from it, it’s hilarious. They’ll be hearing about how they embraced this regime for decades.
Pride cometh before the fall. And this fall is going to be glorious. Get the popcorn ready.
I hope the RNC stiffs the hotel when it comes time to settle up afterwards.
Nice skit for SNL
Shame is dead.
Absolutely. I’m sure they won’t say, these being “private” entities, until a conflict of interest lawsuit is filed, hint hint.
I imagine RNC will pay their bill…probably already have a monthly autopay set up from the campaign. But what I’d like to see is some diplomatic entourage from East Bumphuqistan stiff him when the meetings or state dinners don’t go well.
Very, very good. Of course they had to change it, because they before Trump won and required the grift, they hadn’t made arrangements for if he were to win.
No to be too glum, but there have been studies showing that, given our EC system and states’ voting restrictions, this "wave of white grievance and “anxiety” could be ridden for a considerable time into the future. We could fall into “the abyss of a new dark age” and turn into a North American version of apartheid South Africa. I’m not at all convinced that our constitution could protect us from this.
obsequious: adjective: 1: characterized by or showing servile complaisance or deference; fawning: 2: servilely compliant or deferential. 3: obedient; dutiful.
Inherent in this decision is also the reason why Ryan does not criticize Trump: the Pubs are just happy that they won and are in complete control of the Gov’t, so they do not care about conflicts of interest, appearances, potential bribery, etc. The Party of No unexpectedly won and they realize that this may be their only shot at institutionalizing their vision for America and the World: buckle up folks, for we are in for very interesting times.
Your glum view would not exist if only all those non-voting parasites out there voted. When Trump and his acolytes eliminate all the Free Lunches that feeds their parasitism, only then perhaps they may vote? Time will tell.
mmmm, red wedding?
In any remotely sane world this would be seen as horrendously out of bounds and improper.
I have a distinct, sharp feeling of aggressive dislike for these people for what they are doing to the underlying fabric of our country and everyone that voted for the orange piece of shit.
The normalization of the kind of kleptocracy the third world has largely managed to put behind it is one of our worries.
I don’t have any abolute scale for ranking the ones that come after 1. Global Thermonuclear War, 2. Tantrum involving use of nuclear weapons on country without them, 3. Irreversible slide to mass extinction event, 4. Conventional war, and 5. Suspension of habeus corpus and concentration camps, but the kleptocracy worry is important because it is a certainty while the worst ones are, at least for now, contingent.
Well, that’s good. Trump can make more conflicted-interest money than he has already. Of course, once he secures all those government contracts for his businesses, this little scam will pale in comparison.
Concentration camps?
