Why not Detroit? They could probably just BUY it. Cheap.
It makes no sense to choose what is perhaps the most unabashedly liberal city in Ohio. It would make sense, however, for Democrats to choose Columbus.
āThe RNC panel did not send a technical team back to Dallas.ā
Too many baggers in D/FW.
Haunts of Cruz, Perry, et al.
Youād be able to smell Evangelical-hair-on-fire from inside the convention center there.
OTOH Cleveland? Rocks.

Those lying pieces of teabag shit need to stay out of my State. I hope there is a massive protest outside their little convention, Iāll be there if there isā¦
Ah, another civic triumph for Cleveland, to put on the mantlepiece next to the Torso Murders, Burning River, and 10-cent beer night.
The geographic location of the GOP derp-fest is of little significance. The entirety of the GOP and itās witless followers are permanently encased in bile-fueled ignorance by an impermeable ideological bubble.
My condolences to my hometown.
Donāt forget the river that burned, the tower thatās Terminal, and the lake thatās Erie.
Seriously though, Cleveland is the friendliest place Iāve ever lived. World-class orchestra, fabulous parks system, and lots of great people were born there.
Ruby Dee, Hal Holbrook, Albert Ayler, Jim Brown, Tim Conway, Keir Dullea, Alan Freed, Lillian Gish, Screaminā Jay Hawkins, Bob Hope, Terrance Howard, Langston Hughes, Dennis (the Menace) Kucinich, Joe Lovano, Henry Mancini, Paul Newman, Jesse Owens, Harvey Pekar, Sam Sheppard, Joe Walsh, Drew Carey, Fred Willard, Debra Winger, Bobby Womackā¦
Poor Cleveland. The stain of this will rival the one left by the Burning River.
They were in Detroit in 1980 when they nominated Reagan and look at how much the city has improved since then. They probably donāt want to remind people how much Republican economic policy destroys middle-class jobs.
The retailers of Cleveland had better stock up on whips, furry handcuffs, gay n0rp, and ārubber goods,ā wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more.
Ha! They should have stayed in friendly territory. Cleveland wonāt be kind to the GOP.
My thoughts exactly, Plucky. Cleveland for Republicans = bad. Columbus for Dems = good. Phoenix also would be good for Dems.
prepare for more use of the already over used phrase -
āThe Mistake by the Lakeā
Like last time they know they need Ohio. Like last time they wonāt get it.
WONDERFUL!
Perhaps Iāll finally be able to unload the million boxes of Depends and Fix-A-Dent Iāve been stuck with since the 30,000,000 Tea Baggers failed to show up for the American Spring Granfalloon fail in D.C.this past May.
There will also be ramps for walker access to be built! Iāll be that 30,000 undocumented workers can get that down in less than two weeks. Theyāll love working in Cleveland in early summerā¦itāll be just like home in Honduras!
Congratulations to Cleveland for hosting the convention to nominate the next candidate to lose the Presidential election!
Yeah, it just seems especially silly to choose a host city in which the vast majority of the people who live there canāt wait to vote against your candidate. Thereād be plenty of protesters wherever they chose but Cleveland is ripe with activist Dems whoāll be chomping at the bit.
Less than one hour before the Cleveland jokes started. I thought you were compassionate people. You loved Christmas Story and laughed through Major League (Major League 2 not so much)! What happened?
