Discussion for article #238271
There's no question in my mind that Mr. Trump's fortitude on [immigration] will be unshaken, whether it's a phone call from Reince Priebus or whether it's [a business cutting its ties
Oh hell, I’m lovin’ the shit out of all this.
Sources told the Washington Post that Priebus spent about an hour on the phone with Trump talking about the presidential candidate’s stance on immigration.
Jesus, just the thought of a driveling conversation like this almost gives me an urge to go get both my semicircular canals removed.
How far off the deep end do you have to be for effin’ Reince Priebus to ask you to take it down a notch?
I’m sure Trump told him to go fuck himself.
No mealy-mouthed wimp who is not as wealthy as him will tell him what not to do!
This reinforces my belief that the RNC will attempt to force Trump off the debate stage. The key will be whether Roger Ailes cares more about the short-term boost to Fox’s viewer numbers, or cares more about the potentially disastrous optics of Trump’s participation.
I’m not being combative on this but what do you think Ailes can do to make Trump walk? What can he offer him?
Au contraire. Every time he opens his pie hole, it makes he feel like a genius.
Ok, first: Trump initiated the call, according to the article. I would bet it was to find out from Priebus how Trump was doing insofar as the marching orders Trump was given.
Second: Trump isn’t going to change his message when he’s running second in NH and Iowa, Priebus got what he paid for. He runs a party that has a negative message and now he’s nervous that that negative message is being heard… and supported. As Americans, we should be very scared as to how much support this message is getting. And we shouldn’t be lulled into a sense of false security that this message can’t possibly win the White House.
When has anyone listened to Reince Priebus? Remember the Republican autopsy after the 2012 election? The party has pretty much ignored that.
I don’t know how many times I’ve heard noised abroad, the old chestnut: “If you’re born in America, anyone can grow up to be president of the United States.”
Now my response is: “Yes, but is that wise?”
I tend to agree with you that he told Rinse My Prius to go pound sand. Trump really doesn’t care about anything else BUT Trump let alone a political party. Unless Rinse was able to offer him some monetary consideration.
Priebus did not initiate the call,
Huh? “Pleads” in the headline adds a nice groveling touch to this non story that detracts from the alpha gloss Villagers add to anything on a GOP press release.
The thought of a pleading Reince Priebus is both insufferable and um, er, fun as an observer. The chair of the party has to beg a candidate to change their ways??? Oh, the humanity!!!
"CNN confirmed that Priebus spoke to Trump on Wednesday as GOP leaders grow increasingly worried that Trump’s remarks will reflect poorly on the entire Republican party.
They are just getting worried ?
What planet have they been living on ?
I think there’s an assumption there that Trump freaks out the Republicans and the call probably went down with Reince pleading…lol…
Reince is going to have to work longer hours…

Oh, please. Look in the mirror, fellas. You’re all part of the problem. Trump just has a bigger mouth.
I’m pretty sure Priebus spent 59 minutes listening to how great Trump is.
