Discussion: RNC Chair: We'll Make Sure Unbound Delegates At Convention Are Safe

Also known as “fuck you Trump”.

Folks, I’m tellin’ ya – go long in Popcorn futures.

Gee, the NRA and GOPers want to allow (more) guns in schools, Reince. How come you don’t want your people to have them at your convention, regardless of what the Secret Service may say?
Such an obvious question which no media person will ask of Reince.

I agree. The G.O.P. convention would be so much more fun if all of the warring factions were packing heat. Just think of the ratings!

So Reince cab hire Megan to police Trump. It would be a real shame to leave the strong players out of the game.

[/quote]They’ll be packing heat outside. Regardless of their hypocrisy on this inside, this is going to be something to TiVo. It will be like the WWF, except real.

I hope the bunker they’ll be in has enough French Vanilla creamer.

Shorter Reince: 2nd Amendment remedies for thee but not for me. Guns are good for schools and bars and churches but not for my convention.

But who’s going to keep them safe from you, Rancid?

Trump leads by example, and his main example is bullying and threats. Stone is only following the lead.

I doubt most Trumpkins have even considered the extent to which the GOP can make voting such a hassle that many give up. Cut back on early voting; change the ID laws without bothering to implement an education campaign, much less make acceptable ID easy and FREE to obtain. Cut back on the number of polling stations, especially in poor or minority areas, to guarantee the lines are dishearteningly long.

In fact, I suspect to the extent that most Trumpkins have even bothered to do so (and actually thinking and looking at facts are “hard,” so I suspect many have not) they probably think that the Republicans are right about everything, and everyone who doesn’t look like them (skin color); go to the same church as they do (Muslims and Jews); or wear the same undergarments (women) probably shouldn’t be voting anyway, and that all of this voter disenfranchisement is just Jim Dandy.

And so it is, at least temporarily. Truly, the GOP is good at all of this, as the Trumpkins are about to learn: the GOP can just as easily ignore them, and effectively disenfranchise them, as it can an African American. GOP
primaries and caucuses (and to a lesser extent I think the Democrats too) are Presidential Preference Primaries. They aren’t voting for the “candidate” they are voting for electors. Electors are professional pols, no matter how much they protest, and professionals LIKE to win. They’ve been saddled with a series of losers, and are ready for a change. I doubt they see that in the uninformed blathering of the Donald, and even less so in what will soon be hash tagged #UnelectableTed. That would be in addition to, not instead of #LyingTed.

Stone is just stirring up what is about to happen, if the Trumpkins see the “will of the people” (meaning them, but no one else) is thwarted. Some of the Trumpkins will start reaching for their firearms. Many more will be as staying home on election day.

Taking care of the unbound delegates, GOP style, circa 2016:

Someone really should be polling Republican primary voters to ask whether they think delegates should be allowed to carry at the convention. Ideally, you would want the question to be part of the primary exit polls, but - since that might not be feasible - there’s no reason why an accurate polling firm couldn’t get a good sample in phone polling.

Are you listening PPP - Tom Jensen - Dean Debnam?

We’ll Make Sure Unbound Delegates At Convention Are Safe

From what, gun toting Trump folks? And what’s the deal about bound and unbound delegates? Sounds more than a little kinky to me!

Yes, but not just. They may also need protection from gun-toting Cruz folk, and/or gun-toting activists who want to make sure their policy preferences get heard. And obeyed.

And less classy

The North Dakota delegates may be officially “unbound” but the vast majority of the delegates are current and former legislatures and they are all bound to the Koch brothers as members of ALEC. They will be quite safe until they are needed to vote for Paul Ryan or whoever else the brothers wish to be nominated.

That’s really a little unfair to Roger Stone - who made his reputation as a Republican hit-man all the way back in the early 1970’s as one of Nixon’s dirty tricksters. If anything, it’s just as likely - maybe more so - that Trump is following the example of Stone’s half-century career in bullying and threats.

I think you may be overestimating the value Charles Koch will place on the security of the delegates he controls/bribed. After all, it’s probably just cheaper to replace them than to make sure they don’t get shot.

It kind of is a taste of their own medicine, in a more blunt package…

And now that Megan feels threatened, she is big on “safety”…it’s on her radar b/c it has affected her life. I guess that that is human nature… I wonder if she has the depth to examine her role in affecting the safety of others by her innuendos, dog whistles and other hate bait? I wonder if she has any regrets.

I see she’s been making the rounds of the national press…and has made herself over to be the new Diane Sawyer…it’s interesting to me that most of the profiles are fawning and few have called her to task (the way she would pride herself on doing to others) for her bullshit? I’d love to see an interview where she’s confronted w/ it…clips of her spreading rumors and hate.

I don’t wish her to be unsafe but i’d like her to be accountable for her record.
