Running as sons of the Confederacy is just fine, though.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!! sniff, “Oh, My!”
That is just precious.
Why don’t you make them all wear “Purity Rings” and tatoo a Republican Elephant on their foreheads too?

How about the GOP start with a pledge not to destroy America or drive us into debt handing more money to the rich.

And this pledge would be enforced how? Priebus has just given Trump an enormous gift – when you start whining at people to stay, they pretty much know they own you.

I smell fear(over the internet and through my screen). Trump has him squirming and he knows it! Put the pledge on paper and take it to Trump’s office for him to sign. And please take a camera crew!

I’d post something about the silliness of such a statement, but I’m too busy laughing at the silly little man.

Sometimes it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.

Ah! It’s how you say that Mexicans are rapists and that we still can’t be too sure Obama’s an American. Thanks for clearing that up, Rinse.

Exactly! The fact that RInse My Prius felt that he had to come out and make this statement public says that he’s really worried that either Rump or one of the others will do exactly that. This is what a very fragmented political party looks like when their base pulls them in 10 different directions.

Not to mention the fact that it’s pretty much an admission that JEB doesn’t have the power to unify the base the way that the RNC assumed he would.

Everyone should run as alternate party candidates…

The base (or perhaps “the base”) is really only pulling them in one direction. But that direction leads to electoral disaster when significant numbers of people are paying attention. Pretty much any movement that goes the True Believer route eventually enters a death spiral. The GOP conundrum is that there is no longer a large space where someone can be crazy enough to win primaries and sane enough to win general elections.

True. JEB is clearly trying to rise above the fray. He seems to believe that there’s a contingent within the GOP base that wants to see a rational leader who isn’t chainsawing supposed tax bills. But that’s NOT what they want. They want the circuses and bloody gladiator scenes and they’re rewarding Rump who can provide that the best.

Isn’t it adorable that he thinks he has any influence whatsoever.

Notice how effective his 2012 GOP autopsy and RNC efforts to prevent 2016 from becoming the clown car 2012 was. :-S
