Discussion: Right Rediscovers Hillary's Defense Of Child Rapist And Pounces

Discussion for article #223991

The right wing will leave no stone unturned to derail Clinton. If she chooses to run, the voters will decide if this matters to them or not. My guess is that the anti-Hillary people don’t need this to influence their vote.

Trust the right wing to turn the victim of a child rape into a political football against her will.

If those reporting on this case cared about the victim, they never would have had her relive the ordeal by asking her questions about a 40 year old case.

However, good reporting would have let us know if Hillary’s client was a recidivist (did he commit more crimes after his release from jail).

For instance, even supporters of Governor Mike Huckebee cringe when they realize that he commuted the sentence of a man who went on to kill four police officers.

Thank you Bush/Cheney 2004, for introducing us to swift boating as a verb.

The only thing this really says is that with all the digging around by GOP strategists, their smear campaign if Clinton runs is going to be pretty weak. All the “research” they’ve been doing and all the time they’ve had to dig around, they finally find something that happened in 1975, and that Clinton herself wrote about in her memoir and spoke about in an interview as recently as 2003. It’s like when Obama ran, and every week was some new conspiracy theory about his history or his father, or mother’s religion and so on and every wing nut was up in arms with “wHYE Dudn’t THEM there Librul mEDIA SPEEK aBouT THIS!!!”. And the response was always “because everybody already knows about it because it’s all in Obama’s book, dip shit.” It’ll all be as effective with Clinton as it was with Obama. Meanwhile, no legitimate GOP candidate will emerge, and no new ideas on their behalf will be proposed, and Clinton II coasts into the White House, leaving the GOP to ask yet again “what happened?”.

“…rapist…”

If the conservative point is about good people defending bad people, remember conservatives defend Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld, who are guilty of far more heinous crimes.

Second, keep sight of the fact that conservatives would love to put an AK47 in the guy’s hands.

Third, and most obviously, she was representing the legal interests of someone accused of rape, and presumed innocent. Of course, conservatives do not believe in a presumption of innocence. They are quite content to convict people in the arena of conservative media.

Maybe doing away with courts is their budget-cutting plan.

If she does run, she’s gonna see bucketloads of this stuff. Presumably she’s hardened herself against it, and has an aggressive strategy to deal with it. If she doesn’t, she should stay on the sidelines.

But if Mike Huckebee runs for President again, its old news.

Wow, suddenly conservatives are concerned about a rape victim? (marks date and time)

I wonder whatever could have caused this sudden change of heart?

I can imagine the “HRC Command Center” in the basement at the Heritage Foundation, with Karl Rove and Reince Preibus working til all hours and driving young GOP interns to tears scouring through every page of Hillary’s books, writings, legal briefs, eMails, ANYTHING they can dig up for 2016. And Jim DeMinted popping his head in every couple days like the crazy old coot he is.

They are starting 2 years early, just to make sure they use up all the dirtballs and mud and slime they have in their arsenal since 1990.

But hey: I think the American people are becoming inured to this stuff. If endless play of Jeremiah Wright’s doctored “rants”, edited clips of Obama saying they “cling to their guns and bibles” and “You didn’t build that!” couldn’t turn the voters, I seriously doubt that ANYTHING they turn up will sway a single vote against her.

Hey, here’s a thought for conservatives that want to win the white house:

Why not just field a better candidate? You know, one that doesn’t need a makeover to be palatable to the American people. One that doesn’t need to keep him or herself quiet to seem reasonable. One that doesn’t need to put (fill in the blank) scandal behind them.

Hahahaha, just kidding!

More signs of desperation. Soon we will hear about the Hillary’s history of pulling a fellow student’s hair in grade school. Horrors!

Don’t forget Tony Rezco and Bill Ayers.

When you have no sense of right and wrong, and the only thing you care about is advancing the agenda of your authoritarian cult, you will do anything, say anything, to try to influence people who are not wise enough to recognize they are being groomed for the slaughter by soul-less predators for whom non members of their cult are so much dirt under their feet.

When are people going to learn that the Republican authoritarian cult is no different in spirit from the Khmer Rouge? If they had their way, we’d all be drug out of our offices and Universities and slaughtered in the public parks, and left to the crows and buzzards.

So suddenly it bothers conservatives when someone is “crass” when speaking about rape? When did this occur to them? I mean, let’s go back 40 years to talk about Hillary’s defense of a client while ignoring what our candidates say every day of the week in 2014.

> But the Free Beacon also called that into question, reporting instead that the victim holds “a deep and abiding hostility” toward Clinton – though it included no direct quotes and stated the victim "declin(ed) an interview

So basically they know better than the woman in question how she feels about Hillary Clinton?

Hillary Rodham cackles…

Nice touch. Stay classy, RWNJ’s.

Oh my! The RWNJs are just so freaked out about Hillary running in 2016, even though she hasn’t even announced that yet. They have to go back 40 years to slam her?? SERIOUSLY?!!

The Republican strategy to attack Hillary can best be summed up as follows: “This one time, back in high school, they were studying Libya in geography class and someone said Hillary wasn’t paying close enough attention, and that’s why Benghazi happened!!”
