Rick Scott won because he had unlimited campaign funds, by unlimited I mean unlimited. When you can run a tsunami of false and misleading campaign ads, its impossible to counter those campaign ads unless you can answer with a tsunami of campaign debunking the false and misleading ads. Americans can no longer count on the news media to point out whether or not a politician has their facts wrong. Its up to the person being lied about to defend themselves. If that person doesn’t have the resources to set the story straight, oh well, too bad.

I don’t understand why people of any political stripe would let a TV ad convince them of anything. It’s just baffling to me. One thing all sides can agree on is: we all hate political ads! We all know they’re full of shite! So why in the world does this make such a difference? Yes, Yes….I know…Americans are low info, low education, short attention span knuckleheads but even with that……why is it that whomever spends (wastes) the most money on 30 & 60 second bombastic bullshite commercials win elections? It’s just ridiculous. Makes no sense.

I’ve noticed this year that my 85 year old mother is somewhat susceptible to nasty ads. She’s voted for progressives since the 1960s, and never watches Fox News, but she’s concerned about some of the info on Rep. ads she sees. Fortunately, she’s asked me about them so that I can set her straight.

Our mistake by nominating Christ - a fake plastic man with a worse suntan than Boehner, and a former Republican to boot. The pundits swore up-and-down he was the Dems best chance at winning. No retread Republican should just be a rule from now on for Dems.
