With all due respect to @BillKristol and donors who have called. Where were you when @GovernorPerry was actually running for POTUS

With all due respect to Jeff Miller, I think he’s unclear on the concept here. Wanting Rick Perry to be a symbolic protest candidate is not at all the same thing as actually wanting him to be POTUS.

Is it possible that Perry has gained enough self-awareness to recognize that he’s a weak-willed not-that-bright hair-enabled puppet? He’s never actually seemed that enthusiastic about running a campaign, just been surrounded by people with access to lots of money who thought he would be a good figurehead.

That the #NeverTrump folks thought Governor Oops! had a chance shows just how meager the GOP’s leadership barrel scrapings have become in the last generation or so.

Dubya: The Dim Son of Texas
McCain: The guy who threw away his political future on a ridiculous Veep pick
Romney: Mr. 47%, the only guy still standing when all the not-Romneys finished flaming out

And now, in 2016, the GOP is about to be swallowed whole by a bomb-lobbing fascist radical, where the only other semi-viable alternative is the Senator loathed by the majority of his own party. And now they think Governor Goodhair is a viable alternative? Wow.
