Discussion: Rick Gates Gave Mueller 'New Evidence' That May Be Favorable To Paul Manafort

This whole mess is so convoluted that one has to fight the urge to just walk away and ignore the news until we get some summer warmth.

I wish the media would stop speculating on what Mueller knows or doesn’t know, it will all come out sooner or later and I’m thinking sooner.

Just in case we needed any more evidence that Mueller is playing this absolutely by the book. The history of the US legal system is littered with prosecutors who sat on evidence favorable to defendants.

I think I need a new Trump Crime Family playbook. It’s getting harder and harder to keep track of all the felonies, indictments, sentences, etc.

Yeah. It’s not very helpful.

I had to create a 12 dimension timeline just to graph out all the known knowns and known unknowns and unknown unknowns.

Please explain, TPM, how ANYTHING in this article suggest “…new evidence…may be favorable to Paul Manafort…?

You need to add a couple more dimensions for the unknown knowns…

I was kind of wondering the same thing myself, but just assumed it was an AP article…

TPM?

Let me guess, it’s a memo from Killary writing “DEEP STATE OPERATION “FRAME PAULIE” IS UNDERWAY.” ?

So he comes forward with the one bit he knows helps Manafort, but is silent on many that may hurt him?

Berman doesn’t have time for this today. She’s probably busy arranging the hearing for Stone to be jailed for violating his gag order. He’s got surrogates actively braying for him (not allowed) and apparently Stone said that Cohen is a liar on Instagram or other (arguably not allowed).

Note, this post is wishful speculation.

I’m betting it’s something along the lines of Gates realizing he had lied to Manafort about something related and telling the Mueller camp about it in the interests of full disclosure, but it ultimately doesn’t explain away or excuse Manafort’s lies or anything. It’s just that Mueller would be obligated to disclose anything even potentially exculpatory like that so the judge could decide whether it’s even relevant or not and, if so, how to weigh it.

One tiny shred, pebble, whatever of evidence that Rick Gates turns over WILL NOT exonerate Paulie of ANYTHING. He’ll still spend the rest of his life in Florence.

Gates testified under oath that Manaforte left 2 skittles in the palm of that baby.
