Discussion: Richard Shelby Referred To Mulvaney As 'Most Dangerous Man' In Washington

I don’t know…after yesterday’s performance, I think Barr is bucking for this title.

The next two years are going to be rough.

Shelby often lapses into moments of lucidity. Maybe it is his inner Democrat struggling to resurface.

Hmmm…another GOP-er willing to go on record criticizing the administration. I’m hoping for a chance to recycle this Doonesbury from years and years ago:

The difference between Barr and Mulvaney is that DC and New York are full of ass-licking journalists and hangers-on who will vouch for Barr’s probity, intelligence and fairness. In truth, it’s obvious that Barr is as fair as Sean Hannity—and probably not much more intelligent, except in a rat finding cheese in a maze sort of way—but the image police will protect him.

It’s worth repeating:

I was thinking the main difference is that as the AG Barr has to at least seem to be fair and reasonable in public…but Mulvaney is behind the scenes egging donnie on. Barr is donnie’s Ego, while Mulvaney is his Id.

I’m afraid that the end results will be the same with both of them…at least until we vote the oringe ass out.

Man, I remember when this one was first published. It gave me such relief and joy.

Thanks for a little molecule of hope, docd.

Dang…I was hoping for the face melting scene.

Let us not forget that Mulvaney is so bad that even Joe Manchin voted against him for head of OMB.

Who cares what a spineless Republican Senator said in private about the freakishly radical Mulvaney? Seriously, who cares?

If Barr were actually donnie’s ego, he wouldn’t fit in the same room* with anyone or anything else.

Fucking moron. The most dangerous man in DC is your own Majority Leader, Traitor Turtle, closely followed by the Traitor-in-Chief.

Traitor Turtle has done more to destroy American democracy than anyone currently in power, and will continue to do so until at least 2021, unless he’s hit by a very targeted, very large meteorite.

Outside of traitor Shelby himself, no one.

So is he “concerned” about Mulvaney?

May Mulvaney suffer the same fate.

Better check to see if his brow is furrowed, that’s the only way to know.

" Mulvaney’s tact for “undoing weeks of bipartisan work with a quick comment to Mr. Trump in the Oval Office,” "

Did you mean ‘tactic’ or ‘tack’?

Mulvaney’s tact for undoing weeks of bipartisan work…

Sorry, replacing the NYT’s ‘penchant’ with ‘tact’ doesn’t work.

I was likewise struck by the misuse. Tactic would be correct (though I would not choose it, preferring penchant as a choice there). Tack would not be a good choice. Tact is not short for tactic. It is a quality that Mulvaney and his boss simply do not have.
