Quietly asking SHS to leave the restaurant was a form of non-violent protest by the restaurant owner and her staff against Sanders’ complicity and lies in defense of a fascist, nationalist president who crossed a line in his cruel and brutal treatment of immigrants seeking asylum from violence and death. Silence is complicity. Who is Haass, and who am I to pontificate about the form of non-violent protest in which people choose to engage?

It’s no different. But do you really think the gay wait staff at the Red Hen should have been obliged to serve Madame Sarah? We’re down to the human element here, and I for one am glad their boss was on their side.

Beyond that, it seems to me we’re already divided and pretending we’re not isn’t changing a thing. Perhaps it’s time for us to start drawing our own lines in the sand.

True. And yes I agree. We’ve just been as polite as possible throughout the years of provocation - the nastiness outside of women’s clinics, the doctors killed, the Tea Party and their vicious racism against Obama and his family, their fit throwing over baking a wedding cake - for all love!

They have been doing their best to divide us for over 30 years. They succeeded! I no longer give a shit - go ahead and break up the country. These people make me sick.

Though it tends to surprise us now, the rule of law does matter in this country. The resiliency of the law is one of the reasons why this country is currently healthier than the Weimar Republic.

well the rich and well off/ well protected aren’t like you or me. Now this country has a way to partially fix that, so let’s see what happens.

While she had the right to send Sanders away, while the reason for it is a) political and b) has happened before, while protest sometimes works, the ballot box does matter.
