‘To play a different sport’ says it all. In their minds, governing is all a game, a “sport.” Government, and governing, should not be a game.

If it were me, I’d love to have a few days with the spotlight on Obamacare with the Republicans trashing it. This would be a perfect time for a second look to lock in its beneficial effects in voters’ minds before the midterms and stiffen the spines of Democratic candidates who have been wishy-washy about their position.
Democrats need to present a united front of enthusiastic support and nail down the public perception of Obamacare as an unalloyed good while slamming the Republicans for yet another failure.
You don’t often get a chance to relitigate your case and the polling suggests that the public is in a receptive mood while the timing suggests that they may have been planning this all along.
