Discussion: Republicans Fret About Campaign Fallout From Trump's Mounting Legal Woes

Here’s what I said:

It could be there’s been a lot of money flowing in through the NRA, and key figures knew about and welcomed it.

So I’m offering a scenario that potentially compromised the leadership. Nor was I ruling out others. I agree with you. Fair enough?

Of course. It didn’t sound as if you did and I didn’t understand the (presumed) objection. Didn’t mean to harangue you…just trying to understand.

Btw, what grabbed my attention in 2016 wasn’t just the about-face, but the extraordinay suddenness of it.

Cool. It’s just I start wondering what I’m doing wrong when I can’t get people to take yes for an answer.

“I don’t think it helps any,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said. “It’s
just one more narrative of people around the president doing bad
things.”

It’s not a narrative, your guy is a thief and a liar, you knew that going in. All the people in his immediate circle are thieves and liars - and if I may, it’s looking like the entire republican party are traitors to their country AND liars senator. But keep supporting him to the detriment of the nation - you sad excuse for a human being.

Recent revelations will mean nothing to the 25%-27% of the population that are all-in for Trump.

Trump is their man.

Period.

And what Trump says is the gospel, and his critics are faithless non-believers are to derided or ignored.

If the cognoscenti will permit me to mix my metaphors for greater semiotic effect:

“Run for the exits or go down with the ship, you corrupt GOP motherfuckers.”

Jesus Almighty!!Did it ever occur to them that they are enabling a complete madman that is endangering the future of America and the world at large? Is getting their asshole buddies in power their sole priority? The last question was rhetorical.

Here’s what will change that: if Spanky appears powerless or pathetic. If (when?) that happens, they will scurry from him like roaches in the light.

Also the at-the-time (early 2016, I believe) report that Russia had hacked the RNC.

Then these people wouldn’t vote for us regardless.

That number doesn’t win elections, let them marinate in trumpp juice and scream lock her up and believe it’s all fake news while those of us in the 80-something percentile go out and vote.

That’s really my all time fave but I like it best when it says: Fuck Trump and if you voted for him, fuck you, too.

Dems are going to run on healthcare, call it universal, single payer, Medicare for all, whatever. It’s a pocketbook issue. R corruption is not. It’s a political wonk’s issue. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a political wonk, but most families who live with income inequality are not. Access to affordable is the heart of the matter.

I don’t care about them. They don’t care about me. The recent revelations DO mean something to all the decent folk out there who want to live in a decent society. Why the media and others keep harping on the know-nothings is beyond me. Some people are economically disadvantaged and aren’t racist chuckleheads - let’s help those guys.

Democrats fretting! Sort of like the old “keeping their powder dry”. I always wonder how much of that is factual and how much of that is a pre-written media narrative.
