This is one of those things where I can’t fathom why Republican strategists don’t see this as nearly certain to backfire. It seems astonishingly stupid to keep feeding the base a red meat infected with Mad Cow Disease. HRC and the administration have been repeatedly exonerated of any wrongdoing in the Benghazi attack. Beating this drum for the next two years isn’t going to weaken HRC. It’s going to weaken the Republican candidate when he has to keep spewing thoroughly debunked commentary in order to appease the R base. Benghazi concern-trolling is going make their candidate look out of touch especially as more horrifying images of brutality committed by ISIS continue to emerge. Plus, you can bet your ass that HRC already has dozens of devastating responses teed up. If Republicans had a clue as to how to appeal to the general electorate, they’d shut up about Benghazi and move on.

Besides the sheer inanity of beating this dead horse, the timing is likely to backfire. How can the GOP claim balanced and sober credibility for their expensive taxpayer-funded committee while running such blatant ads? Also, appealing to 2016 voters more than two years in advance hardly seems fresh and future-oriented. Yes, they’ll try to bloody up Hillary, but those Clintons have fought back and survived much worse. I’m not a HRC fan myself, but I see this as a waste and misdirected resource and far too early.

The GOTP base loves them some Bengeezer! However I just cannot see how continually exhuming this non-starter is going to add to that base. Perhaps they see this as a way to keep the wingnuts riled up until November 2016.

So not only are they insisting on continuing to drag the names of the 4 who died in Benghazi through the mud for partisan political gain, they’re also stuck on utilizing a non-controvery conspiracy theory that only plays to the dumbest of the GOP base and is largely laughed at by the general populace as a long since dead horse with no real meat left? Oh, oh!..I sure hope we get to see the footage of the burning building again! Because, I haven’t seen that enough yet!
