Discussion for article #244525
This is all very funny.
Fuckers would stab their mother in the back for a chance at some candy.
Snooky Palin: I am satisfied that Cruz was born in Canada. Since it is not Kenya, I dont need to see his long form birth certificate.
R leaders should be asking potential voters if Cruz is qualified to be president, and then they should ask if he’s Canadian.
Green Eggs and Canadian Bacon
Oh, my goodness, I’m going to have to send Mrs. Dearest out for more popcorn…
Is the question restricted to the citizenship issue, or is it meant to address whether he is qualified to be president and do the job of a president well? The latter question should be being raised a lot. Because he strikes me as almost uniquely incapable of getting along with anyone and that is something that is a real no-no for presidents.
I’m a little surprised at Priebus’s nonanswer answer. I thought he would have at least defended Cruz’s right to run as a natural citizen without endorsing him in any way. But he didn’t. Hmm.
At least 3 of them in the race would do that for a chance to lick the blood off the knife.
When do they get around to asking if he is human?
To say that Cruz and other pols like him are part of the vast right wing conspiracy to shut down the American left and all it stands for including battling climate change, wage inequity, lower tax rates on the very rich and affordable health care might sound like a tinfoil hat wearing looney is on the loose again. But it’s happening in small and big ways, and today’s slap in the left’s face is the shutdown of Kynect. But we can state with some certitude that Cruz is only a humanoid who would do anything to advance his agenda and the far right’s.
“So let the people decide.”
Decide if the question is fair or that his answer is comprehensive? Which one?
Romney is a Republican leader, wonder if anyone told the followers that?
Cruz’s parents may not have been legally divorced and also possibly not legally remarried, plus his mom has questionable residency issues. This isn’t birthing, it’s actually a vetting of a candidate and it is an issue because Cruz’s own Party made a huge deal of it. So he is just living by the same sword that his whole Party does.
Cruz isn’t qualified if his parents weren’t fully qualified and that’s that. Full documentation is all that is required and he could call Obama for some help because Obama knows this one inside and out.
The history of citizenship law for people born outside the US can be found here:

According to law from 1962 or thereabouts, Cruz would be considered a “natural born” citizen if his mom had been 10 yrs a resident of the US 5 yrs of which must be after the age of 14. So, as I understand it Ted’s mom had to be at least 20 when Ted was born. If that is the case then he would qualify. Sadly enough.
It’s not up for the people to decide but rather, it’s a question of law.
“That’s a candidate issue” - He said / She said false equivalency is now the policy of the GOP. And ABC News, based on this weekend’s reporting. I don’t know who - if anyone - will finally clean the Augean stable that is today’s conservative “movement” (appropriate term, that) but it sure won’t be little Reince.
Sort of. The remaining question is whether The Constitution envisioned the definition of “natural born citizen” to include persons born outside the US. If not, Congress may not be able to expand that definition.
And if she did not renounce her American citizenship before his birth.
She could also become a citizen of another country and Ted would be okay but if she also renounced her UN citizenship before his birth, he’d only have had Canadian citizenship and would simply have the status of any other Dreamer here in the States.
I was mocking the quote from the column.
Mittens weighs in, “@tedcruz is a “natural born citizen.” Obama too.”
Oh, ok. Thanks asshole.
