Yes, thanks for this post and the link and reminding everyone about David Corn. I’ve long been dismayed that none of that Russian business was taken seriously until now. The connecting of the dots is there and when it is finally exposed in detail, it will make a hell of a story.
Good new is the Mo-Jo Momentum is gathering strength, trump is knocked off balance and there is blood in the water. Resist, persist.
Just for fun: Tomorrow is the full moon. With an eclipse. And a comet.
What’s red hot & jammed up my hole is that any minutia, when it came to wikileaks, & Clinton emails was covered with more verve than the Orange Hemmorrhoid grabbing at a pussy. Like more astute commentators than I have pointed out, this story has the makings of Watergate type biglyness written all over it, but the media is more interested in reporting on tweets that the twatter in chief puts out daily.
Thanks. It would make me happy to see Pence nailed to the wall. The way he lies with such fluency makes the hairs on my neck stand up. That man terrifies me.
Too bad. Why have a law you don’t use. Since the DOJ won’t touch it, could ACLU for example bring a suit with citizen plaintiffs. The Congressional open letter to Iran was one thing, but this fatthjer and son Flynn stuff is covert.
Maybe. There may also be another factor. Isn’t Flynn one of those guys who is rabidly anti-Muslim? He really thinks that we should declare war on the Muslim world. So he may see Russia as an ally against that clash of civilizations.
“Our enemies have declared war on us and we have to take this on with all the resources that the United States of America can bring to bear," Flynn said. "There is no doubt.”
Patience, these investigations take time, and the media stories will eventually follow. Rest assured that the FBI and the intel community is on this. And like last night’s court decision shows, our institutions still provide a bulwark for what we are up against.
General Michael Flynn is a true Hero and a Patriot because he is 100% behind President Trump. He can do no wrong even when he breaks the law.
Unlike Senators John McCain and Richard Blumenthal, he fought in Vietnam and was not captured. Michael Flynn also was sleeping around and fighting off sexually transmitted diseases in the trenches alongside President Trump in his own personal Vietnam.
This track record of military accomplishment, mutual respect and loyalty allows him to compromise national security and break the law.
One of the most satisfying days will be when we see this idiot led out of the room in handcuffs! His ego was hurt so he sold his soul and his country to the highest bidder
At least the recent action in the House, if I understand it correctly, will force the House members to go on the record if they are not willing to follow up on the Russian entanglements and the blatant profiting from the presidency.
Not actually treason under U.S. law. You have to actually be in a shooting war of some kind for it to be treason.
But he may well have skated into the thin ice of the Espionage Act of 1917 which is just plain draconian. As John Walker, Robert Hansen, Jonathan Pollard, Aldrich Ames, and Julius and Ethel Rosenberg could tell you if not for the obvious reasons they can’t.
This shit is serious. There are lots of ways to run afoul of the Espionage Act. The least serious of them can get you up to ten years. If one of the FSB types who’ve gotten themselves mysteriously dead in the last few weeks was a U.S. intelligence source (admittedly unlikely but not impossible given that they were certainly a source of Steele’s) and Flynn blew their cover, it’s a potential death penalty offense, life in a federal supermax effectively being the default sentence for violation of § 18 USC 794 (gathering or disclosing “national defense information”–a defined term–to aid a foreign state or non-state entity.) Merely disclosing any kind of classified information to a foreign government, 18 USC § 798, will get you up to ten years which you will, again, most likely spend in a supermax.
The way the MSM and the members of Congress are tap-dancing around how seriously serious this is frustrating, but also kind of a tell indicating awareness of the seriousness of what they’re talking about.
No such delicacy, restraint and unwillingness to get too far ahead of themselves would have applied had it been Democrats who did this, of course.
