Hereās the thing:
Can we trust the Trump administrationās word on this? How do we know whether this is all false or, more likely, partly true and partly false? And, Donald Trump being who and what he is, how can we not fear heās going to inflame something somewhere just so he can prove his manhood by nuking somebody?
Just what Deflection Donnie needs, another 3 am distractionā¦

But Trump twitted that they wouldnāt do it. I thought we could trust everything Trump twits to be true.
Now thatās leadership, folks!
Lawmakers demand stronger Trump response after North Korean missile test
Following a round of tweets about North Korea late Monday, Trump spent Tuesday at his golf club with no further comment from the White House.
He had no idea dealing with __________ would be so complicated (insert - healthcare/North Korea/Middle East peace/giving the Kochs & Mercers unneeded tax breaks).
Will Trumpler put the NoKos on notice and will āEl Perro Rabiosoā talk tough yet again?
Is the whole federal government coming down with Trumpitis? Itās definitely maybe something, and weāll get on it immediately in a couple of weeks - great results possibly guaranteed!
You could also insert - the presidency, the American People, other countries, Congress, etc., etc., etc. You know, all the things we expect an honorable, ethical, wise leader to deal with, but then Trump is completely devoid of those qualities.
Military, diplomatic and national security officials held a series of ongoing meetings Tuesday to discuss the United Statesā options based on the assessmentās results, CNN reported.
Was Trump in attendance? Was he even invited? Conference call, maybe? Updated on the situation? Or left alone to tweet and watch TV after a round of golf?
A good piece about North Korea by Mark Bowden appeared in The Atlantic not long ago. It lays out the various options and shows why none is vastly preferable. (He suggests accepting the situation, as unpalatable as that may be.) Itās the kind of thing that takes some intellect to understand and maturity to think about calmly and rationally. Trump has none of that. So the worldās welfare depends on whether there are people around him who do, and who can persuade him not to do anything foolish. Luckily his capacity for boredom and irresponsibility may keep him from meddling here. When thereās a crisis heās compelled to act over, and feels strongly about, God help us.
I guess weāre left with no other choice:
Our so-called President must engage in a wrestling match with a man who has an ICBM for a head.

Iām just curious as to what kind of brinksmanship Kim and his cronies are playing. Do they seriously think that even one missile landing on U.S. soil/territory would not be answered by Pyongyang being turned into a giant sheet of glass? There is a very dangerous game being played here, and our fearless leader is apparently as crazy as the short man with the bad haircut and the short fuse. (Our guy also has a bad āhaircutā and a rotten temper, but heās six feet tall.) Of course, Donnie may just be waiting for instructions from Putinā¦we are in a very bad place, folks. My only hope is that some member of the military and/or the Cabinet will have the courage to tell the OSG not to push the button.
Excellent article, thanks for that.
The only way to prevent him from doing something foolish may be to give him a shiny, new bauble to tweet on. Another Mika from the media he can vent about.
Or maybe North Korea can give him a Trump Hotel Pyongyang? Then he wonāt care what weapons they unleash.
Orange launch smoke? Donald mash note?
And then China and America attack each other and destroy the world.
It was nice for a few while it lasted.
His golf club in Virginia, to which he flew today. Not to be confused with his golf club in New Jersey, where he has been all weekend. (Except for the quick flight (at $200,000) back to DC to attend a rally for the unveiling of the Trump Lesser Lied).
