Discussion: Reports: Trump To Delay Signing New Travel Ban Executive Order

The President was initially scheduled to sign the new executive action on Wednesday, but the administration decided to postpone the signing so that the order would come down during a new news cycle, according to the reports.

Then they are screwed.

I don’t know if he has redefined the news cycle, but considering how the administration created this problem with the initial ban, its going to be hard to find a fresh cycle to reintroduce it.

oh well…

From Der Spiegel’s remarkable article on Alex Jones:

It’s afternoon, and Jones is walking through the studio, his adrenaline level high and his blood sugar low. He needs to get something to eat. Platters of BBQ - chicken, beef and sausages - are set out on a table in the conference room. “Good barbecue,” says Jones. “You tasted it already?”

He piles up food onto a plastic plate, and then he suddenly takes off his shirt without explanation. With his bare torso, he sits there and shovels meat into his mouth, a caricature of manliness, but also a show of power to the reporter sitting in front of him. He can do as he pleases.

Then Jones gets up and holds out a sausage. “Wanna suck?” he asks.

I thought Trump signed the original Travel Ban because we were in a crisis situation, where we could be attacked at any moment. Now, we’re going to take our sweet time?

Because terrorists wait for new news cycles, too. And this is all about stopping terrorists.

You know that “My State of the Union Blockbuster!” might just replace “My Landslide Electoral Victory!!” as a his go-to public wank.

I keep thinking the same thing .
This god thing that some believe in has a very perverted sense of humor.
People like him and Trump are crying out for a good smite or well placed zot of lightning , yet quality people get taken every day.
I see disgusting old fossils like Sheldon Adelson . Why isn’t he dead yet?

Whoa… Shelly is alive? I couldn’t tell from the photos.

Yep. The first one had to be a surprise, otherwise bad people, very bad people who want to kill us all, would take advantage and pour in during the delay period. I guess they’re all here, by now, so no need to issue a new order at all. Too late. Bad judge. Bad, bad judge. Sorry, not the President’s fault.

Trump wants to bask in the glow of his lackluster but not spectacularly bad speech to Congress.

This will come when they want to turn up the heat, not when they’re consolidating ground.

Edit: @bobef, I’m really hoping “O” stands for ovations.

Trump gains credibility for sounding presidential because he didn’t rant and rave at SOUish speech. I guess we are fortunate that the bar can’t be set any lower. (that’s a hope, not a fact as they appear to be quite skilled at bar lowering)

There were some of both.

by the way @turdburgler, why do you need to burgle turds when they are so readily available for free?

“Credibility” strictly with the Media Whores, of course. The rest of us know it was all bullshit: lofty promises of people getting free stuff (yes, free stuff) with nothing to back it up.

It’s all part of the con.

Oh, and naturally, we know this second delay of Muslim Ban 2.0 is also garbage: if the threat is so large, why do you keep pushing it back? Ah, it has nothing to do with security at all. Got it.
