I’m OK with that.

Both her parents came from India and her real name is Nimratta. I’m wondering if she’s the only foreigner that he’s met.

He has and will do worse I’m sure.

Yeah, that’s kinda my attitude, too. She can, unlike many, be occasionally reasonable.

She’s an idiot.

This won’t go over well with the Alt-Reich.

She seems sane, so better than most alternatives. I’m not sure how being Guv of SC prepares you for the post, however.

The only thing that would is a unilateral withdrawal and a failure to recognize its authority.

The White supremacists will be pissed because they don’t want him to appoint anyone to the post. As far as they’re concerned, the UN is an illegitimate because reasons and America shouldn’t have anything to do with them.

Now, I know why Tim Scott’s been making noises about moving to the Govs mansion.

I’m no fan of ANY Republican, since they all fall in line with the far right at some point, but I will give props to Haley for getting rid of that god-awful flag last year. That was, for a minority female Republican in a deep deep red state, a very risky move, and she managed to pull it off. I live next door in Georgia, and I know from experience that rural southerners hold that symbol dear. And it’s no small accomplishment that she did so after that horrible massacre of African-Americans in the Charleston church. Usually any such action is seen as a reaction to “political correctness” or appeasement by the less-than-enlightened crowd.

So, considering where we are at facing a Trump administration, this is a move I can support, since it ain’t likely we are going to get any better. And let me just state, before anyone attacks me for surrendering, that I am a realist, and that I always want what’s best for my country. Since Clinton will not be our president, Haley’s serving as UN Ambassador will not be the worst thing that happens.

As a white southerner in a small town in northwest Georgia, let me just say that any African-American presence in higher office, even by a Republican, is a good thing. It gets people open to the concept that, yes, we are all capable of serving our country. And since I’m going to grow wings and fly before SC puts a Democrat in the governor’s mansion, let’s at least acknowledge that a black Republican as governor is a step forward from another rich white businessman in the McCrory mold.

She did it because of the massacre not in spite of it. The national outrage could have damaged her career.

Nikki version of Peter Principle; leaves SC to pick thru the ruins of her failed governorsrhip. Who will be her policy ghost-writer?

Haley is an Asian-American of Indian descent and she’s Republican. These are her credentials for the international stage. She needs no others, according to the GOP handbook.

So who is the next Secretary of State?
