Another company to boycott.
"PERRY, GA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Perdue Farms will significantly expand its Georgia operations by growing its existing facilities in Houston and Monroe counties, bringing 1,000 new jobs and a total investment of $155 million to the state.
“ We applaud Perdue Farms for its vision in capitalizing on the rich resources our state brings to the table,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “ Georgia 's economy and workforce will benefit immensely from this investment by one of our state’s outstanding corporate citizens.”
“The Perry complex in Houston County is key to supporting our company’s growth,” said Jim Perdue, chairman and CEO of Perdue Farms. “Thanks to Governor Sonny Perdue and Georgia 's commitment to economic development, Perdue Farms is able move forward rapidly with our plans to develop the Perry facility into one of the country’s most modern and efficient food production facilities.”
A guy who prays for rain instead of using data… great plan.
We’ve gone from a clown-car GOP primary, to a clown-car GOP administration.
The Asshole-elect probably thought this the chicken company Purdue. Sad.
Not related to the chicken company
ThanK god noT anotheR Mexican rapiSt running Agriculture. Lord KnoWs we already have Enough of theM stealing ALL the strawerrY-pickinG JoBs from reaL Americans 1!!!1!!!one!!1!!!1
Yep, Arthur and Pearl Perdue were from Maryland, and if they are related to Sonny, it’s only so distantly you need spelunking genealogists to find out.
To all of those farmers who voted for their idol Trump instead of THAT WOMAN:
Better start praying for rain, bitchez!
Oh, and I would suggest you ditch the corn and the wheat and start growing some primo weed, if you want to be able to afford any healthcare whatsoever from your “friends” in Trumpzilla’s administration.
But at least there’s no longer a Kenyan Muslim Socialist Usurper in the White House, right, comrades?
Sonny? He goes by Sonny? Look at 'im. The old white bastard looks like he’s one hundred and fucking six. I don’t know about praying for rain. I’m praying for a scintilla of fucking dignity. Doesn’t he have a real fucking name. Something like Tony, even? I’m easy. And I’ll bet this stupid geriatric cracker knows nothing about agriculture.
Edit O.k. The guy did grow up on a farm and is a veterinarian. But AG is way more than that. Forest Science, Pest Management, Honeybee research, food stamps. By that criteria, I have a Ph.D. in biology and I’ve had infectious diseases so I should be head of the CDC. At least my name is not Sonny.
It takes a real american from a real ag state to be sec of ag

[/quote] My thought exactly and that he was hoping to score free chicken nuggets.
“Perdue” from the French, “perdu”, meaning lost.
IOW
Big Ag wins once again…
or
Monsanto wins again…
I guess I’m one of the few in here that can talk about Georgia being “up North” and living below the place allows me to know it well. Perdue is a remarkably ignorant Red Neck. He’s perfect if you’re looking for a man that fits the North’s stereotypes of a Southerner. Dumb. Hard headed and phony as the day is long. He’s mean too and I suspect that’s what attracted Trump to him. So we’re almost done. Were going to “Make America Great Again” for the Rust belt by stocking government full of Southern low lifes. Wisconsin…don’t cha know Sonny’s your boy! Michigan…Price is going to make it great for ya! And Pennsylvania…you got Perry to bring back that oil!
This has got to hurt if there’s snow in your back yard today.
First name’s Sonny. You can find it in the baby Name’s Book on the same page as Bubba, Gator, Buck or Catfish.
Newbie above still does.
With Sonny at Agriculture and David in the Senate, chicken farmers are looking forward to very good times, and the the chicken shit market will see explosive growth!
This does not bode well for the Forest Service (I’m retired FS). Any politician from Georgia is in the pocket of the timber industry. Even Jimmy Carter, as much as I love him. Carter took the FS off the Sustained Yield program, which began the decades’ long era of massive clear-cutting, which continued until the Clinton Administration and his Northwest Forest Plan. I fear for the land management agencies. This congress could undo so many laws that protect our public land and water. The Clean Water and Clean Air Acts, and NEPA are all ar risk.
