Trump has such a deep bench. Not.

Welcome to the dignity-wraith club, Mr. Kasowitz. You can enter, but can never leave…

Kasowitz may want to get used to high stress and frustration. Trump will continue to say stupid shit and tweet stupid shit.

A New York lawyer who does torts has been hired to interact with Washington professional Constitutionalists who have impeachment on their mind.
Well done, Mister President. You are making it easy.

Is he insisting his client glue his thumbs to his palms first?

IMO Lieberman’s “prospective” appointment was a shout-out anyway. Conflicts would’ve sunk him. Maybe it was even a shout-out to Kasowitz, but I’m sure it wasn’t necessary as Kasowitz’ main claim to fame is repping Trump. He’s filed frivolous crap for Trump before. He’s also gotten tobacco-company damages overturned.

Kasowitz represents Trump in a defamation lawsuit filed by Summer Zervos, a former “Apprentice” contestant who accused Trump of groping her.

that’s a weird sentence. accusing someone of groping you is not accusing them of defamation.

I don’t know this guy, but he does not sound like someone I would recommend to advise on the ins and outs of Washington, or the subtleties of criminal law, or abstruse matters of Constitutional law.

In other words, another talented Trump hire.

Well, he’s represented Trump for a long time, so he knows. Recent failures include defamation suit and NYT retraction demand. I’m sure there are others. Trump is paying him I assume or he wouldn’t continue to represent. I,cannot imagine he’s writing it all off.

Commentators have tried to explain this appointment on the grounds of “loyalty.” Trump is loyal to people like Flynn who have worked for him. I think there is another explanation. A number of people know bad stuff about Trump, including Flynn and probably Kasowitz. They haven’t, as yet, tried to capitalize on that knowledge. So it is safer to appoint Kasowitz to a position for which he may not be suited than the bring in someone new and have to level with them. Provided, of course, that Trump ever levels with anyone, including himself.

He’s got RICO experience.

Didn’t he then accuse her and everyone else of making it up? Because they’re overly concerned with getting attention, or some such failure of character?

Ah. Hadn’t thought of that angle…

I’m very pleased that the Prince of (im)Peach has once again chosen loyalty over competence. If nothing else, this blatant conflict of interest will hopefully blow Joe out of the water for consideration as Director of the FBI.

NoT appointed, hired. Outside counsel.

It’s been reported that Kasowitz’s other big client is Sperbank, the largest Russian state owned bank. It’s a Gordion knot.

Doesn’t seem like the smartest choice, so yeah, makes perfect Trumpian sense. Besides, donnie’s history probably limits his choices. He’s gotta have someone he knows will keep the secrets.

Have to go out for a while but I’m sure the community can make quick work of the chausette du jour.
