If you sugar daddies own the judges…why bother?
Are the Kochs getting scared? Did their bid to buy the 7th district court of appeals fall through?
Sounds a lot like Sharia law in Saudi Arabia. You can buy your way out of any crime – even rape and murder by paying blood money – and get to heaven. These back room deals have to stop. Crimes should not be condoned without trial and with restitution.
I’m not familiar with the WI John Doe laws, but it has been described as similar to a Grand Jury, and as far as I know you can’t “settle” with a Grand Jury, they would need to first issue an indictment, and go through at least some preliminary court procedures before you could reach a settlement.
Is this not the case in WI?
Whoa Nelly…put a break on that sparky. I see what’s happening here. Walker’s trying to speed up the process now that the judge’s conflict of interest has come into full view. Not so fast. I’m pretty sure the legal system might want to take a closer look now at the judge that’s working overtime to get you off the hook. Why doesn’t it surprise me that the reporting is coming from the WSJ and AP? A rather timely piece. Kind of reminds me of the trickster Cheney who planted a story in the NYT and then quoted from it to make his point. An “unsigned editorial” huh? I’ll wait to see if there’s a challenge to the way this judge Randa arrived at his decision now that we’ve found out what a total suck-up to the Kochs he is…much like Walker himself.
My point exactly. Now that the “Koch suck up Randa” is on the line the Kochs might be getting nervous about the appeals court ruling. Time to scuttle what can be scuttled.
I believe this judge ordered that all materials in whatever inquest is going on be returned to their respective owners or be immediately destroyed. There was a motion of some sort to put a hold or stop to that judge’s order I think…so this ain’t over till its over.
Cut a deal and cut bait Walker’s style. Well, most criminal minds like Christie and those too smart to be dumb in their mind.
A fish rots from the head on down or so its been told. That’s the Walker administration in a nutshell…and most of these Thug Governors.
If Walker gets out of this and is running for President in 2 years, there is no justice. None.
Let’s hope that SOMETHING gets done here! The Kochs want this strangled in the back room before it’s discovered how deep they are in Randa’s pockets.
More like Randa’s in their pockets.
Stand by and watch a master at work…Scotty is gonna skate again.
I have said it elsewhere - he gives slick an entirely new definition. He has very powerful allies, a loaded legislative and court system of his buddies and a local media which has a track record of sleep walking.
What? You mean having a super-friendly bought-off judge wasn’t enough, Scotty?
Wisconsin always had such a terrific reputation for scholarship (University of Wisconsin, etc.). For Progressivism (see Bob LaFollette, Senator from Wisconsin).
What has happened?
“Evil triumphs when good men do nothing”. In this case “nothing” means “not voting”.
Look at the near volcanic demonstrations against Walker in 2011 (led by a passel of young and middle-aged folks)–followed by his survival of a recall election, as his FOX-addled minions creaked out of the bingo halls, squeezed themselves into their pick-up trucks and (as always) outvoted those 30-40 years their junior.
Just get out and vote. How hard can driving down to a polling place and pulling a lever be?
Once every couple of years.
I don’t buy it. Which goes for pretty much anything you read on the WSJ editorial page. This is someone’s fantasy, but I can’t see for what end? And there’s no way the prosecutors are going to settle anything ahead of the Appeals Court ruling.
The John Doe investigation is all judge and no jury, whereas a grand jury is all jury and no judge. The purpose and scope of power are similar.
As best I can tell, the Walker campaign and the 501(tp) organizations are suspected of coordinating illegally. Prosecutors were sweating the Astroturf for something to pin on Walker, but Astroturf sued in federal court to make them stop. Walker, meanwhile, is nervous about reelection and apparently doesn’t mind throwing a little Astroturf under the bus to avoid an October surprise.
With the Kochs being given the mining rights to Wisconsin, the least they could do ismake sure Scottie gets off.
