Discussion: Reports: Scaramucci Looks To Ax Disloyal White House Aides

Scaramucci is what is known in mob terms as an enforcer. He’s the guy who took Fredo out in the rowboat.

Saddam hurriedly convened an assembly of party leaders on July 22. During the assembly, which he ordered videotaped, he claimed to have uncovered a fifth column within the party. Abdel-Hussein, broken after days of physical torture and under the threat of his family’s execution, confessed to taking a leading role in a Syrian-backed plot against the Iraqi government and gave the names of 68 alleged co-conspirators. These were removed from the room one by one as their names were called and taken into custody. After the list was read, Saddam congratulated those still seated in the room for their past and future loyalty

When he is finished Scaramucci will be the Chief of Staff AND the White House Communications Director.

Priebus is toast. He may as well start clearing out is desk now (Scaramucci wants your job and will get it.)
Bannon is on notice and will probably keep his title, but only have a “Director of Looking Out the Window” power and may resign in disgust.

Trump is “circling the wagons” and wants a Hedge-Fund-Asshole in charge of defending him. He gets that with Scaramucci.

Next up after cleaning out the WH;
Fire Jeff Sessions. Pressure the AAG to fire Mueller, when he won’t do it, fire him too.
Nominate Rudy Juilliani for AG and Chis Christie for AAG (both as RECESS Appointments that McConnell won’t contest)
Grant Pardons to everyone in his Family and anybody who could testify against him.

It’s going to get ugly folks…

Careful, Mooch. If the spotlight shines too brightly on you, Orange Julius might get jealous and angry.

Dense Pence is awfully quiet, isn’t he ?

The only remaining detail is: what pet policy positions will Mooch push? Is he a gilded white supremacist like Bannon? A party-over-country apparatschik like Preibus?

Or are we past the point that White House functionaries even have political positions, and his sole and exclusive role is to protect the President from the oncoming storm?

Weird. I seem to recall hearing that ‘loyalty pledges’ weren’t really this administration’s thing.

I won’t get excited until I hear that Bannon and Kushner are on the list.

Otherwise, I don’t care. This is palace infighting and it just further weakens them.

ETA: Forgot Priebus.

At which point, he’ll still have to deal with leaks from Donald Trump John Barron.

He’s trying to stay out of range of the circular firing squad.

So using non existent leaks or those leaks manufactured by the WH to fire those “not working hard enough” to defend trump…This some f’d up stuff.

Since the Mooch is an experienced leaker, this is like hiring a Poacher to keep the other Poachers away. Smart move !

And the most telling factor in how ugly its going to get…is they are purging the RNC people, essentially cutting their ties with their own party. That’s a very bad strategic mistakes on many, many fronts.

Just look at the bigger picture. Flynn was forced to resign. Spicer has quit. Tillerson has announced his intentions to quit in 6 months. McMaster has been sidelined. Things are in motion to push Sessions and Priebus out. Kushner’s top lawyer quit. Trump is sidelining his top lawyer. All of these will also result in purging of underlings associated with each.

It’s going to get A LOT uglier.

I dont think he’ll take out mueller. What trump really wants is someone, mostly likely the AG or asst AG to keep his financials and tax returns from seeing light as a result of the mueller investigation. Hes being advised to not mess with mueller but then again he doesnt listen and as the pressure builds around his taxes and financials he might just break and fire mueller even at risk of a obstruction of justice charge… to save himself…i wouldnt put it past him…

This ‘Mooch’ appears to be an adaptable fellow; affable, sycophantic at need, sleekly ruthless and able to play the angles as well as any courtier. Now if only the Trump White House were more like 17th century Versailles and less like the 20th Century Kremlin.

I suspect he will discover in #45 what his investors discovered in him: you don’t profit from going long unless you’re a principle and, in this case, there can only be one.
