I’ll wait for Sen. Sanders’ response…

What amount will Trump be paid when he is no longer President? Can’t imagine he will be high in demand.

Bankers? Go for it.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE IT TO SOME WORTHWHILE CAUSE AND CHANGE THE STANDARDS. OR RESTORE THEM.
If HRC hadn’t taken the Goldman Sachs money, or had given it away, or had donated it, perhaps she would be president. We might not be in Trumpworld.

shrug, OK – so what?

I heard some snivelbitching on Another Site about “ZOMGWTF, BRIBERY!!”

What the hell are people thinking Obama’s being bribed to do…run for UN Secretary-General?

Bet the house on Trump mentioning this at his weekend hillbilly rally…

Good for Barry! There is no problem with this. The issue they raised with Clinton was the secrecy of what she discussed…and then ran for public office. Obama’s not running for anything and I say you deserve this and a heck of a lot more. And I hope they keep publishing what he is making just so I can enjoy the spinning heads who gave him crap for being the most ethical president we’ve had in a long time!

Hell for that matter, I hope he becomes the first President to make 1 Billion Dollars on the speaking circuit, pointing out to the world what a piece of shit he was succeeded by.

I personally am fine with this, because Obama will no doubt use the opportunity to speak sense on healthcare, and I don’t give a shit that his market value enables him to pull in $400,000 (a modest fee, in those circles). But… It will generate a distraction inside the Democratic party, even if he donates the fee to charity, at a time when that’s the last thing we need. I’d pull out, if I were him.

EDIT: This comment board already demonstrates what I’m talking about. There’s now going to be a bunch of arguing amongst ourselves about a bullshit nonevent that will actually demoralize/enrage a crucial section of the Democratic movement. Enough with the bullshit talks to banks–not because they’re necessarily wrong, but because they’re very counterfuckingproductive.

The most disappointing president in modern American history. It’s what he does best.

I guess the Obama’s $65,000,000 book advance just wasn’t enough. Well, the Obama’s are about half way to Bill & Hillary’s fortune. Welcome to The Pig Rich Club Mr. Obama. The banking community thanks you.

In a world where today’s news, this very morning’s news, includes word that Ivanka will set up some species of venture-capital fund right in the damn White House, in that world I don’t think it makes a lot of sense to wag any fingers at the “optics” of this. There’s probably not a person on the planet who could command higher speaking fees and God bless him, let him rake it in. He took enough grief to pay for a thousand such speeches.

It’s the Optics Olympics!

Obama doesn’t need the money, and doesn’t need the optics of taking more cash at one time than many of his former voters would see in ten years, either. If he does do the gig, I hope he donates the entire amount to a charity or non-profit.

Obama is collecting his reward for not prosecuting any of the criminal banksters responsible for the 2008 crash and for millions of people losing their homes.

Thanks Obama. Just another oligarch.

I imagine that over the next several months, more and more people will be paying President Obama tons of money just to look at him, and remember.

Liberals getting outraged over a thing reported solely by Fox Business News? Seriously? Have we learned nothing? Might as well be getting upset because of something published by Breitbart or the latest James O’Keefe “expose.”

I’ll be back to debate the merits when someone with more credibility than Joseph Goebbels reports on it.

Well there go his chances of being elected president - we all know that Hillary lost because she gave speeches to Goldman Sachs…

Our kleptocrat speaks like a child and is robbing the country. His salary is approximately the same amount, he says he’ll donate it but he won’t, so I say hooray to a president who worked hard, came from nothing, struggled against discrimination, became a brilliant student, learned early on how to form coherent sentences, endured mocking and criticism for eight years, and still got things done So as long as an individual’s pocket is not being picked, I say go for it. “Optics”? Fuck them. His supporters remain his supporters. Though clearly there are still opponents resisting his presidency.
