Discussion: Reports: Michael Brown Had No Juvenile Felony Convictions, Contrary To Conservative Claims

Michael Brown committed the one true capital offense in the U.S. - Pissing Off a Cop.

And so what if he was? Why do we need to justify the unjust assassination of a human being?

He reminds me of a couple of Asperger’s folks I know - highly focused, awkward social skills - but he doesn’t show the intelligence these guys have.

Well, at least not in Uzbekistan. …as far as we know,

If he “didn’t even have a real reason to pull his gun or fire the way he did” why do you think he did it?

Ya, Asperger’s without the smarts is pretty tough row to hoe.

He reminds me of a kid who’d eat a bug for a dollar and the promise of inclusion. And he’d do it every day fully expecting to get cash and respect this time.

When James O’Keefe no longer gives you that repulsive-god-awful-sticky-where’s-the-shower feeling, there’s always Charles C. Johnson!

The trolls would just keep dropping him in the shower.

Typical conservative. If reality doesn’t match up with their bigoted theory they claim some sort of conspiracy. Sometimes the record is just the record.

It sounds like Michael Brown did not have any kind of felony record. Why then the wishy washy headline in some places that says he had no top felony? Wow, what gives?

So if he did have a record, it would have been justifiable to shoot him?
If he did have a record that would have affirmed his subhuman status and justified his being shot?

If Brown had been white would his prior record have come into play?

True equality will occur when a black victim does not have to be perfect to be granted justice. When a flawed black victim is equal to a flawed white victim, then they’ll be equality.

@jeremykohler @ChuckCJohnson Still not relevant to his murder by a cop. #mikebrown didn’t deserve death for the shit he DIDNT shoplift too!

An interesting possibility might be this: Setting Johnson up for a slander and libel suit. Once the court has stated that there were “no top felonies,” if Johnson keeps saying there are, he could be sued for slander and libel. The court is probably miffed at this waste of their time.

Are you sure? Seems to me I remember…

Doesn’t matter to them either, because in Wingnut World, you need only say a thing to make it true and no mere objective data can make it untrue.

The lynching mentality still persists in the public domain. Can Johnson, perhaps, turn his attention to the MacLachlans? That couple allowed their nine-year-old daughter to handle a machine gun, resulting in the death of her instructor. Why no expose on the parents? Clearly, they would have to be stark, raving mad to allow their own child to handle a deadly weapon. I’m still waiting for the media to dive into their backgrounds, the way they did Michael Brown’s, who was a murder victim.

Second degree murder? So, he must have been in juvie until his 18th birthday, then. What a well kept secret. Eventually, video came out that showed Michael Brown paying fo the cigars— you’d think the Ferguson police would have simply leaked that he as a murderer. It would have been a lot easier than looking for a random piece of video to implicate him in a theft and a assault. Grabbing for straws in order to justify his killing. Shameful.

Um, because he had a bad reason? like, say, he was a white cop in a black neighborhood of a southern town whose departmental culture was to act more like an occupying force than public servants, got mad when a black kid failed to instantly comply with his demands, got madder when said kid the temerity to resist his choking him, and, in a fit of rage untempered by the slightest fear of consequences, gunned the kid down in the heat of passion?

Because that certainly seem consistent with all the witness reports except his own.

He may not have had any serious felony convictions, but Fox News says he was a thug, so I’ve got to go with that, because I know, deep down in my heart, that a pretty blonde on TV would never lie to me.
