“the Justice Department called for the sale of CNN specifically,”

That’s not fucking suspicious at all…

Sessions must be elfing out right now. This is so loaded with only bad ways to go, after Twitler set it all up with his CNN bashing. There’s no way to think of CNN without thinking of Trump’s attacks. It’s a huge part of the CNN brand now, and Sessions -with a couple of other uhmmm “problems” on his plate- has to be cringing at even the slightest mention of this deal point.

White House adviser Kellyanne Conway denied on Sunday that the White
House was intervening in the Justice Department’s work on the deal,
Politico noted.

I’m supposed to believe something she said as truthful?

Yeah, peel off CNN and let some Russian Oligarch buy it through some shell company.

Really, really want some deep pockets Dem to step up and buy CNN. Now. Soros, Steyer, Geffen, whoever. Hell, let Franken put together a group. The Right and the 1 Percent have always understood the benefit of losing money in their media to get their message out. And they own more and more of our media. Need someone to step up.

He said his administration “will not approve” the deal “because it’s too much concentration of power in the hands of too few.”

The Department of Justice told AT&T that it would need to sell off CNN to Sinclair or Murdoch to promote competition and fairness in the media.

Let me guess, 21st Century Fox would be interested in solving this problem by taking on CNN?

Disney Fox :flushed:

Perhaps the DOJ will only sign off on the merger if Rupert Murdoch is allowed to buy CNN.

Right?

He’s looking for ways to get to do what he wants to the free press.
And it bears very close watching.

I’m sure the Mercers and Sinclairs would also be acceptable buyers. Or the Commerce Secretary could resign and buy it, letting Putin and his buds get invited to the party.

[Trump] said his administration "will not approve” the deal "because it’s too much concentration of power in the hands of too few.”

“And those ‘too few’ do not include me,” he elaborated.

Punishing the media appears to be trending…

Do we really need another television channel exposing the felonies of the Hillary Clinton administration? What will it cover on election night next year, the weather in Tahiti?

That not only would save CNN, but would more likely than not improve the network…

Actually, I was concerned AT&T executives would muffle CNN in regards to Trump coverage. Depending upon who CNN is sold to, this could be a positive. No?
