Good for him, if true. Any of the berniebros who boo this speech will make themselves look like even bigger fools.

Bernie announced that, despite earlier promises, he will remain an Independent in the Senate. Wow. I’m so surprised. NOT.

At least he doesn’t get to chair a committee.

We are all “with her”.

Thank you for doing what’s right, Bernie. You might have taken the long way round, but at least you finally got there.

Time to end the drama, Bernie

Git 'er done…

It would be great if he did it. But why are we hearing about it being negotiated?

Who is leaking and why?

Bernie’s pride would not have allowed this before, but at this point he knows that every of his supporter that goes on NPR or MSNBC or is quoted calling Hillary a crook or yelling lock her up, or saying they will support trump burns off more of his capital. Its not just a senate chair, its literally his peers being willing to talk to him when he gets back to the senate. Unless he does absolutely everything he can it will (a) undermine him, and (b) undermine progressives in general.

I’m sure the state chairs/polls are taking names, and the people behind these things will be blackballed. No way the democratic party wants to be taking over by the Socialist Workers Party. They can see what has happened in England with Corbyn - if he remains - giving a permanent lock on power to the Conservatives, they don’t want a similar dynamic in the US.

Who was originally scheduled to perform the formal nomination?

How much of a speaker’s fee is he demanding?
Enough to have to report it on his income tax forms?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I suppose if they opted for the clear face mask we’d all still know it was Bernie up there at the podium.

No fee, just a promise that a little bird will fly up to the lectern while he’s speaking.

Raise your hand if you are shocked by that one

This never should even have been in question. The idea of there even being a need for “negotiations” is absurd.

Leaving aside the split infinitive (it should have been "to nominate Clinton formally), this should have been obvious a while ago. But still good to see.

Yes. Bernie gets it. If close to 90% of GOPers say they will vote for Trump, the Dems should have at least that voting for Hillary.

I get people passionately supporting Bernie, but not the Sarandons whose passion borders on the delusion that there would be little or no difference between a Clinton or Trump presidency.

Unless the chairmanship of the Senate Select Committee for Oversight of Hijackers and Codswallops comes open.

If you think that’s what’s going to happen, prepare to be disappointed.

I’ve listened to countless Bernie delegates say they’d never vote for Hillary. Nor Trump. It fails to occur they have no viable third party option that will succeed, and depriving Hillary of their vote might swing the election to Trump. Idiocy.

Imagine you’re in an airplane at 10,000 feet. The guy kicking you out the side door offers the option of donning a parachute (Hillary), or just jumping (Trump). The Bernie delegate would say “I don’t like either choice. Hey, over here, this seat cushion, I’ll take that.”
