Discussion: Reports: Apple Won't Support GOP Convention Over Trump

Yeah Apple!

I stand with you!

That Apple would support the GOP convention if they had nominated a different candidate is troubling.

Too bad the party of science denial (let alone reality) gets any tech support. Can’t they get four bars with their Jeebus connection?

Why do Facebook, Google, and Microsoft love and fully endorse Trump?

One of the things my cousins loved when they saw snow for the first tine was snowballs. The cowardly do the “right thing” better under plenty of cover.

It’s an opportunity for Apple to save resources and money for what has, essentially become a cult of hate. No doubt Tim Cook walked away from the deal happily.

Why would any organization want their name associated with DJT? He is a loser, a loud-mouth who is absolutely a charlatan. He must go down “bigly.” (He even invents words.)

In related news, the entire mammalian family, Mephitidae, has also decided to take a pass on the GOP convention. One outspoken member of the type genus, Mephitis exclaimed, “Piss on this. This whole thing stinks.”

Hilarious.

At his rally in Vegas today he riffed on China’s relationship with Apple. A transcript of his usual word salad.

Now look at the newspapers today, Apple! Good old Apple. I was waiting for this to happen. They been having their stuff made in China, and now China has turned against them. Now here’s the bad news. By my saying that, China’s very smart, they’re going to say “Oh boy, Trump has picked this one up we’ll let Apple…” I am doing such a service to Apple by even mentioning it, because our word are being broadcast all over the world, and Tim Cook could should send us a lot of money for what I’m doing. But China is now ripping off Apple, saying “You don’t have the right to sell a certain product in China! Because somebody else has the right.” And they’re ripping them off bigly. And right now, Apple doesn’t know what to do. But it always happens. But you watch. Because of this it will be a headline. Now China, they’re smart! I deal with them…

Begin standard Trump riffing on dealing with China, Bank of China largest tenant, sell them condos, blah, blah, blah, drops Apple train of thought.

He’s going to think Tim Cook is one ungrateful son-of-a-bitch.

Oxymoron.

The reasons for his repeated business failures become clearer by the day. He’s more dimwitted than I ever suspected.

Interestingly, that’s the impression that one gets when just about every other day, the Chinese government is telling Apple to jump and Apple keeps asking “how high?” It’s clearly more complicated than that, but that’s also part of the deal Apple made wanting to get into that market and will put up with a great deal of abuse.

China bashing is easy, but here, Trump is not that far off the mark, generally speaking.

Apple, which usually has about $500B in cash sitting around really needs help from Mr. “It’s an emergency!!! Send Money!!!”

However, tech companies like Facebook, Google and Microsoft have all said they will provide help to the Republican convention this year, according to Politico.

Of the big five tech companies, Apple and Amazon are holding out. Amazon (Jeff Bezos) for obvious reasons.

I’m really not surprised by Zuckerberg or Microsoft, but am disappointed in Google, as I thought they prided themselves in being progressive. The whole “making the world a better place” cliche.

Why is it troubling, This is done all the time. Remember the Bernie supporter who couldn’t get a tow?

Maybe their involvement is just a cover for a big data mining operation.

Sadly, Apple isn’t the only sponsorship at RNC convention.
