Discussion: Reporter: Rep. Don Young Apologized For Shoving Me

I don’t know what is worse his anger issues or his sense of entitlement.

Wait’ll the Orange Shitgibbon finds out that a Republican [gasp!] actually apologized! WTF is the world coming to?!

Let’s hope the press goes through all the records at courthouses where he might have be sued in civil court.

Zanona’s update came about two hours after she tweeted that Young “just physically shoved me and told me to get out of his way ‘damnit’ as I was trying to interview another lawmaker outside the door of the House chamber.”

Don Young has called me to personally apologize, which I accepted and very much appreciate. Told him we were just trying to do our jobs (which he said he understood)!

This is why they don’t respect you guys. He was not just doing his job. He was purposefully being an abusive ass because he knew he could because he know you would gleefully accept and “very much appreciate” any half-hearted apology for fear of losing “access.” He’s not sorry and he’ll not hesitate to do it again when you get in his way.

All irrelevant. The true issue to focus on is really the “personal space issues” of Joe Biden, amirite?

So tired of these people…

Don Young is a thug. An old white thug. And he can’t even rhyme.

Next time don’t accept the apology - instead the only way to settle this kind of assault is in the ring. Kick his ass.

We just can’t get rid of the old bastard no matter how qualified the person is who runs against him. He has the ® after his name and that is all that matters to the majority of Alaskan voters.

I think the “we” in Zanona’s statement was referring to “we reporters,” and not her and Young. That said, I agree with the rest of your assessment.

Young told that story on Rep. Sean Duffy’s (R-WI) podcast, “Plaidcast.”

"Hey! How can I get on that show?"

“He also once held a closed knife to the throat of former House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH).”

And he’s still in Congress? Nice work, GOP.

Ok, that makes sense. It doesn’t sound so pathetic that way because I was embarrassed for her.

He’s STILL an ahole but…good on him for the apology. Maybe it’s FINALLY time to step down?

Young has been involved in so many shady dealings over the years, I wasn’t aware he was still in Congress.

If you’re going to invade my personal space I’d rather have a hug than a shove.

It’s weird how Republicans all left the “If You Don’t Wear an American Flag Pin You are A Traitor Who Hates America and Doesn’t Support the Troops” club ten seconds after Obama started wearing one.

I’d love to see the AK campaign ad: …and he apologized to a reporter. Has he lost a step?

I would have knocked the mf’er into next week if he touched me.

Always an asshole. The apology was bullshit.
