Discussion: Report: White House Set To Send Pentagon Guidance On Transgender Ban

Nobody’s safe in America, not when attacking any group of people can help Trump solidify his support with his hate-filled base.

Thank god we kept Crooked Hillary and her emails out of the White House. Big thank you to the “Never Hillary” Dems for staying home on election day, or writing in Bernie. You saved us from a national nightmare.

Another pillar in Trump’s legacy. BTW look at that photo–looks more like a bear’s paw than a human hand.

It is, alas, our legacy as well.

The rumor is that his thumbs aren’t opposable. That’s why they always stick up in the air.

It’s a normal hand photo-shopped over Trump’s tiny one.

There are interesting legal issues implicated here. Can the military forbid transgender people from serving? How is that not illegal discrimination? This notion seems to single out a group for disparate treatment not based upon performance in the military.

(On the other issue of Trump’s denial of funding for certain medical treatments I don’t know how that would legally play out).

I oppose every part of him.

What a sick thing this is. You’d think that maybe, just possibly, Drumpf would listen when every military leader opposed this idea. But no. He’ll force it down their throats. What dreck he is.

Give me two minutes and a pair of pliers. I guarantee I’ll make them opposable.

He’s a bully; he preys on the weak to look strong. But this is an issue where most people were fine with the status quo and where the opposition (the LGBT community + allies) is ferocious.

This policy guidance makes no sense, as it seems to assume that all trans folks will seek SRS at some time in the future.

For example, what if a young person who has transitioned fully seeks to join the military? They are trans but ongoing medical expenses (hormones, basically) are cheap. Why should they be prohibited from serving? Likewise a trans person who has no desire to medically transition?

Thanks all you Jill Stein voters too. Sure you have blood on your hands, but hey, you had a point to make.

This can be overridden by Congress with legislation. Trump may be nominally commander-in-chief of the armed forces, but the Constitution empowers Congress “To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces”. All it takes is for Congress to show a little gumption (I know, I know).

SHHHHHHH!!! Don’t say that too loudly! Darcy might hear you! Darcy loved to scream the “Crooked Hillary!” and “Corrupt DNC!” and the “Both parties are the same!” tropes during the presidential campaign. But when confronted with these former comments on this site, Darcy likes to quote Mrs. Bates from “Psycho”:

I refuse to speak of disgusting things, because they disgust me!

Trump endlessly demands mercy for himself but nothing for anyone else.

Yeah, that was the difference. Her loss had nothing to do with her not campaigning once in WI after the convention, while finding time to campaign in AZ. It had nothing to do with what Obama apparently labelled the political malpractice of her setting up, and her response to criticism of , her private email server. It had nothing to do with the 53% of white women who voted for Trump. It had nothing to do with low turnout among minorities. It was those damn Bernie Bros.

I´m surprised, though, that you give Russian interference a pass.
