Possible, I suppose, but not likely. Grand Jury Hearings are secret, but that applies to the Prosecutors and the Jurors, witnesses are generally allowed to tell people that they’ve been before the Grand Jury, and to relate what they were asked, and how they responded. Certainly, the press came to know he’d talked to the Grand Jury… so it wasn’t much of a secret; just a tiny detail he neglected to mention to his would-be-boss.
