Discussion: Report: WH Limits Scope Of FBI's Kavanaugh Probe, Including List Of Allowed Interviews

They’ve had really great luck limiting Robert Mueller’s investigation so this should be no problem!!!

IRS records will verify employment dates. Are those off limits?

At what point does another count of Obstruction of Justice come into play?

That is a good point. Is the FBI legally bound to limit their “independent” investigation to WH limits?

If so, why even have an investigation. This is what we all feared, a sham investigation for cover to vote for BK.
I do not think Flake or Collins have the spine to call this out… so he is approved with 50 votes.

They act as if we can’t figure out what they are doing.

Free Rein, Dammit! Reign is to rule. I wouldn’t be surprised if this came directly from the dotard.

The trick is to have something that looks like an investigation without actually being an investigation. They need a fig leaf to cover the ugly stain left by Kavanaugh’s ridiculous tirade.

Two fast things about background investigations- #1. I’m on my fourth renewal and nobody tells the investigator where not to look (because that’s also shining a spotlight on who to call first, of course!), including the host agency. It’s totally independent, as was said by the FBI agent on MSNBC last night, when he also said, “there’s no reason to wait for us to call you. Just walk into a field office and we’ll help you immediately.” That sound like they are limiting the witness list? and #2- The Judge is also on his sixth investigation. How do you think renewal number seven is going to go for him?

If this is correct, it is already a very obvious obstruction of justice. But, much more important, it should cause the senators who said they would not commit to voting for Kavanaugh until the investigation is completed, to vote against it. I think the odds are overwhelming that they will vote for Kavanaugh. Republicans never vote against their party unless the vote is meaningless.

I have a surplus of both figs and fig leaves. I will volunteer to provide the leaf, but I want to look closely behind it first.

If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear. Kavanaugh’s guilt couldn’t be more obvious if he took out a billboard on Times Square confessing his sins. But Flake gets his fig leaf…

What is it Trump always says…oh yeah…it’s rigged, folks.

You do know what is behind most fig leaves don’t you?

Why do I feel that they are shoving their dicks in our faces?

I still think there’s a good chance one or more women come out over the next few days. Then what? We ignore them? This is ludicrous.

This is what I was afraid of - WH interference with the investigation. Only I thought the WH would interfere with the findings, now I see, they are censoring the FBI at the outset. So I am left to wonder how far can the WH legally control an investigation? Can it even be called an investigation, if the WH can pick and choose, who will be interviewed and what info will be obtained?

I guess the press will have to do the job for the FBI as they have been doing for the last week or so.

I have to admit I’m not understanding this. Even though it’s Trump and he respects no norms, I thought the FBI was part of the DoJ, and while the President is to be kept abreast of relevant investigations, he is not supposed to direct their activities. So why is this an exception?

Isn’t this why the Comey firing was such a big deal? Trump inappropriately pressured him to let Flynn go.
