Discussion for article #231062
if an incident had occurred
“If”?!?!?!
I’m starting to see why cabbies are licensed and regulated.
Maybe this $40B fascist enterprise isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, what with even their own upper management planning retribution on any news reporter who says something negative about the company.
What woman would turn down oral sex from a stranger?
Uber is the classic tech company that grew so fast they have children (mentally or physically) in charge.
I remember when Oracle was growing like wildfire. I was astonished how often I ran into recent (as in 1 year out) Stanford grads (4-yr degree) that had been at the company 6-9 months and were now in charge of 80 people.
Helen Keller, because she wouldn’t be able to hear anything.
Not sure what’s more outrageous…that the creep offered her oral sex, or that Uber only valued oral sex at $31 bucks.
… so many straight lines, so little time.
I think that might be the going rate. Not high priced call girl. Maybe meth head. Though this is the UK. Not sure how far 20 pounds sterling goes for this type of thing.
Uber, it’s a libertarian wet dream.
Actually, that’s market rate (up 15% from 2009 historic lows).
As soon as a customer has to contact a company twice about sexual harassment bordering on assault by one of it’s agents, the company has lost.
Oh, and the headline on this story is a little misleading. When someone is driving a car with you in it and thus has control over when and whether you can leave, an “offer” of sexual activity is pretty much a threat.
These articles really need to distinguish Uber SUV, black car, and taxi from Uber X. The drivers of the first three are bonded, with chauffeur’s licenses. Taking Uber X is like paying to hitchhike.
What time of day was it? Surge pricing should take that up to at least $75…
It’s verbal sex just to talk about it, isn’t it? Like phone sex.
Whether the guy got to her or not, he was making sexual advances and being sexual without invitation. One thing leads to another and this was the beginning of a sex crime.
The lady wasn’t unhappy because of the ride (maybe she was that too) she was offended and scared by the predator/driver.
UBER’s motto; save cash-get lucky!
