Michael Moore pointed out that Columbine has fallen out of the Top 10 of worst American mass murders in recent history; the top three worst have happened in the last year and a half.

Lest we forget that one of the first executive actions signed by the current occupant of the WH reversed the Obama administration’s regulations which made it much more difficult for people with mental illness to obtain firearms. The WH occupant is complicit because one of the guns used was obtained in 2017.

I agree with all of your points. I would add:

4. The gutting of social and mental health services that make our police force the first line of contact for social services and also results in the incarseration of the mentally ill that should be treated but instead learn ‘neato’ tricks in prison from the criminal inmates.

Kelley had served in the Air Force and was served a bad conduct discharge. He was sentenced to a year in military confinement for domestic abuse not long after he broke out of this mental health institute.

The Air Force has admitted it failed to properly report Kelley’s past crimes to the FBI, documentation that would have blocked him from being able to purchase a firearm. Kelley reportedly purchased four firearms in the past three years.

Looking at this unstable guy and Bo Bergdahl (rejected by US Coast Guard for for psych reasons), I think we need to reexamine our recruiting process.

I frequently find myself on high alert now when I attend even minor events like a show at my grandchildren’s elementary school. I know it is ridiculous statistically to be paranoid like that, but the constant bombardment of these things on the news is doing real damage to me - and, I suspect, a lot of my fellow Americans.

The Republicans aren’t just complicit- they are accessories.
