Discussion: Report: Trump's NatSec Pick Pushed Fake News 16 Times Since August

Why isn’t the media outside Flynn’s place of residence day and night? This is absurd. He needs to answer these questions.

FOX: That sounds great. We do it all day long and will be doing it forever. Constitution is great.

How about a report about the people in Don’s circle and his picks who don’t lie or who aren’t crooks?

Are there any???

It’s time to make this asshole’s life unbearable. Let’s make Drumpf’s life unbearable too.

No.

But you knew that.

I hope to god that this is used to embarrass the fuck out of him during his confirmation hearings…to the point where he flies into a rage. Flynn is a disaster. He’s one of the worst picks Trump has made and not enough is being made of it.

Steve Tesich described the post-truth world back in The Nation in 1992:

We are rapidly becoming prototypes of a people that totalitarian monsters could only drool about in their dreams. All the dictators up to now have had to work hard at suppressing the truth. We, by our actions, are saying that this is no longer necessary, that we have acquired a spiritual mechanism that can denude truth of any significance. In a very fundamental way we, as a free people, have freely decided that we want to live in some post-truth world.

Now, Trump and his crew can say anything, support anything, and not that many, or at least not enough, bat their eyes.

Public policy by conspiracy theory, what could go wrong?

“Gen. Flynn, how can we expect you to make rational, cogent decisions about the country’s security when you clearly exhibit such rampant credulity when it comes to false, baseless, counter-factual conspiracy theories?”

“I didn’t really believe them!!!”

“I see, so you’re admitting here in a public hearing on the Senate floor that you are willing to deliberately and knowingly engage in dissemination of false, baseless, counter-factual conspiracy theories as political propaganda to promote yourself and the policies you would like to put in place? How can the American people trust you not to abuse your power in this manner as a member of this administration?”

The guy is in a double bind here…and I’m pretty sure I could tweak these lines of questions to be even more loaded and insulting such that he’d be yelling at me. Unfit indeed.

Flynn: “The real (i.e., Trump voter) American citizens need to know and accept the fake news. How else can our nation be secure?”

Sadly, there are no confirmation hearings for that position.

Well it sure doesn’t take much to put him in a tweetstorm rage.
Keep up the good work Baldwin and SNL

I keep hoping that articles declaring that Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States are simply more examples of fake news.

I saw a Trump supporter on TV who stated emphatically that she believes 3 million illegal immigrants voted in the last election. Coincidentally just about enough to cover Clinton’s lead in the popular vote. It does not take a genius to figure that one out.

Also illegal immigrants who are trying not to get caught, and deported don’t register to vote. The women seemed so clueless I was embarrassed for her.

16 times? How does that compare to Trump?

@sniffit, I think you hit it pretty close to the bullseye here. And then his confirmation will sail on through unless a few Republicans actually grow some backbone.

No Senate confirmation is required for the position.
