So you think he should be praised for mocking his VP and chopping him off at the knees? Repeatedly throwing his administration officials under the bus? What kind of idiot does that? Oh, right …
I know you think you’re making some kind of insightful point, but you’re not. trump is criticized when he lies (which is about 75% of the time, per fact-checkers) and he’s criticized when he’s hypocritical, which seems to be the rest of the time. He’s ALWAYS saying stupid things, or criminally neglecting issues he should be addressing, thus he always deserves criticism.
Somehow I doubt there’s any strategy behind it. trump just likes to make fun of people, whether it’s a smart thing to do or not. That’s how he entertains himself.
Yeah, this ability of evangelicals to brush off trump’s egregiously hedonistic lifestyle, his very un-Christian mocking of just about everyone, really confounds me. What exactly do they see as his good qualities, other than the ones they invented for him out of thin air? I see prominent evangelicals insisting that trump has accepted Christ as his savior, and that he’s a godly man. It’s pretty obvious that that is bullshit, so what’s the attraction?
An anti-abortion SCOTUS justice so they can repeal Roe v Wade? Invoking the Apocalypse? Hating on gays? What?
“So was Trump telling the truth in the private meeting where he mocked Pence, or was he telling the truth while speaking to the VV Summit?”
The ironic (and to many of us Christians) and sad part is that Trump has bamboozled so many “evangelicals” and their “leaders” into believing that the real Trump IS the “private” one, as opposed to the one the “mainstream media” falsely portray and the one visible for 18 months on our TV screens… It’s the basis of one of the evangelical world’s leading website publishers, whose forthcoming book on Trump is premised precisely on that belief - that to know the real Trump, you have to hear him in private. Sadly, Trump has revealed clearly who and what he is - only too many are blind to it.
Keep in mind, a lot of these people are the same ones who send quite a bit of their money to the televangelists. So, there’s that. But, you’d think they’d pray for their eyes to be opened so they could see the real truth about someone they are so willing to let make decisions and take actions that effect so many lives.
I always want to know who laughs along when Trump says things like this. Yes, such a statement clearly unveils Trump’s blatant hypocrisy - anyone with some kind of decency should say, “It isn’t funny to talk about hanging people.” Otherwise, the listeners are accepting the same tired excuse that Trump sycophants give when they say he was joking about . . . . (fill in the blank).
There must be something wrong with ME. There is no way that I could work for or near someone like Trump. Not for money. Not for power. Nothing. There truly is a ‘red line’ I won’t cross.
First point, the Mercers don’t own Bannon, waaay to much maintenance cost. They lease him.
Second, Pence’s religiosity is sincere, if horribly wrong on so many social issues. He was a standard Catholic until he met Karen and she turned him onto the evangelical hyper-Christianism. My husband observed them praying before an event, behind a curtain with no press or cameras around. But it’s the sincerity that probably annoys Two Scoops so much, as he thinks sincerity is for losers. Or his base. But I repeat myself.
What is significant here is not the policy difference between Trump and Pence, regarding LGBT folks, but rather the additional evidence that this report provides concerning how truly malignant Trump’s narcissism is. Mocking others really does seem to be built into his DNA. I shudder to think what he says in private about his wife.
Trump is lucky that Conservatives have no self respect. If they did, no one would want anything to do with him. As it is, Conservatives will continue to degrade themselves in the hope that some crumbs will fall their way. Its almost embarrassing to watch.
I see that picture of Mikey gazing on the guy who saved him from returning to fly over country talk radio and wonder, why didn’t that plane they’re on just crash and burn?
