I know well what people are saying about her re-election bid, and most are not pretty, but she’s going to have competition, some very well funded and coming with very respectable credentials, think Tom Steyer, far left billionaire environmentalist and friend of the Obamas.

“To be very blunt, these three jurisdictions will have authority to bring indictments over the ongoing special counsel investigation into Trump campaign collusion with the Russians and potential obstruction of justice by the president of the United States,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said in an interview Thursday. “For him to be interviewing candidates for that prosecutor who may in turn consider whether to bring indictments involving him and his administration seems to smack of political interference.”
Southern District of New York, the Eastern District and D.C. Feinstein has said something similar to what Blumenthal’s saying here.
@tena Now we debate who in the senate will oppose these nominees and who it is who wants an unfettered investigation.
U.S. attorneys are also subject to the “blue-slip process,” meaning home-state senators could try to unilaterally block a nominee moving forward.

OT, I finally got to watch the much-talked-about Debya’s speech today in its entirety. What a great relief to hear him say “underestimate” right… 
Seriously, that’s probably one of the best speeches the guy has made (or his speech writer has written). It doesn’t in any way erase his massively negative legacy, but the speech is packed with messages much needed right now. And no matter what we think of the man, it means a lot coming from a living former president.

And if you actually watch it, you will probably conclude he can far better “stay on script” … and I mean literally “stay on script.” He kinda read it out in a monotone and the audience just didn’t seem able to find timings to applaud

The thing about Trump is the corruption is right in your goddamn face. With the cocktail of malignant narcissism, obsession with dominance, and sheer stupidity, he’s simply not aware that he shouldn’t do that shit and if he’s going to he should be discreet about it. Amazing.
