I realize THAT…but the insights into his mind are so frighteningly disgusting. They need to be noted.
He has laid the groundwork for blaming saccone. That’s all he cares about…plausible deniability for himself.
Exactly, Saccone could be an excellent candidate, but it doesn’t matter. PP doesn’t care. The only thing he cares about is the way the outcome reflects on him, whether he ultimately looks like a winner or loser. He’d have supported Lamb if he thought it would make him look better.
We’d better hope not.
There’s no need for hope. There aren’t 34 states who’d agree to it under any circumstances. I’m not even sure there are ten.
He’d have supported Lamb if he thought it would make him look better.
It wouldn’t surprise if Trump came out and lauded Lamb were he to win. Many of Lamb’s positions are well within the GOP mainstream. Look for Trump to somehow portray a Lamb victory as ultimately helpful to the GOP cause.
Aren’t their something like 30 states that have agreed already? We get warned about this every six months that the take over of red state legislatures will lead to a CC and they only need a couple more…
Says the Smeghead that ran away .
All excellent points, rickjones. I’d also add that Fat Nixon likely put out this so-called leak himself. This is just the sort of thing he would do to accomplish all of the goals re: PA-18 you outlined.
I was thinking the candidate didn’t enter into hush money agreements with porn stars, so he wasn’t “man enough” for Fake Prez.
Maybe Eric or Dotard Junior will apply
You said it all-except for this one essential point:
Trumpism cannot fail; Trumpism can only be failed by incompetent staff and inadequate followers.
Trump’s scapegoating will have to be especially weaselly to keep the grift going.
You know you will outlive the asshole.
It has to be 3/4 of the states, not 2/3. So the number of states needed would be 38, not 34.
You know you will outlive the asshole.
Not as young as I used to be…and this administration is aging me, fast.
Still. I am sure you don’t eat the crap he does and that you get more exercise than him.
If Saccone loses, Trump will point the blame.
That will be significantly harder than he thinks. Precisely because he did do a high profile rally there. In fact, regardless of the outcome, I suspect a lot of republicans facing hard elections are indicating that they do not want the President anywhere near their districts.
Its worth noting, for example, that in GA-06, not only did Trump not put on a rally, when Pence showed up, Handel refused to even do a photo op with him. He was hustled from the airport directly to a closed door fund raiser.
They are already toxic. Last week’s rally just underlined that.
OF COURSE, he does. This is called ‘hedging your bets’ and Donnie is a master at it. Take both sides of an issue (or a candidate) and then no matter WHAT happens you declare ‘victory’…over and over again until everyone is stupefied with the barrage of your lies and just…moves on.
“Weak candidate” in PA you say, donnie two scoops??
Izzat why you spent over an hour bragging about your self and your accomplishments at that speech that was supposed to be about how great the PA candidate was?
Weak indeed.
Aren’t their something like 30 states that have agreed already?
I’ve never heard that there are 30 states that have agreed to repeal the 22nd amendment. And where are they going to get the votes of two thirds of Congress? I’ve heard a lot of assumptions that Republican led legislatures and/or governor means they’d agree it, but there’s been no voting nor anything else to support that theory. To me, it’s as fantastical and ridiculous as Republicans believing Obama was going to do the same thing. It’s just not a reality based position.
It has to be 3/4 of the states, not 2/3. So the number of states needed would be 38, not 34.
Even better. Thanks for the clarification.
In fact, regardless of the outcome, I suspect a lot of republicans facing hard elections are indicating that they do not want the President anywhere near their districts.
Agreed, but I still think it’s going to be very hard to keep him at bay. A congressperson could tell Barack Obama that they’d rather not have him hold a rally and Obama would shrug and move on to where he was wanted. You can’t do that with PP. No matter how gently and respectfully it’s explained, he’s still going to take it as a personal rebuke. He’ll still get his feelings hurt and react angrily. They’ll have to worry that he’ll turn against them and publicly trash their candidacy. Don’t think he wouldn’t do it. Even if he desperately needs the vote in Congress he’ll put his own ego above all else.
Oh crap…He told the Penn crowd that Pres. Xi told him that China doesn’t have a drug problem because they use the death penalty for drug sellers. He is floating that the U.S. should have the death penalty.
I wonder what Trump thinks of Chinese laws on tax fraud?
