Drip, drip, dripā€¦when does the IRS investigation begin? Or has it already, and not been announced? HO seems to think that laws do not apply to him; I eagerly await a contrary opinion from the government.

Are you kidding me? They already ARE keeping the dosage down, all this is still just a fraction of the Trumpian corruption, cravenness, and malfeasance that is there to be shown to the country. Thereā€™s enough shit on this guy to continue on this pace through 2018 if it had to. The drumbeat continuesā€¦

Isnā€™t he just a big dick. ā€˜I donā€™t BELIEVE in taxes, embargos, boycotts, etc. etc. so I donā€™t ABIDE by themā€™ā€¦ - Donald J. Trump, American Patriot

I wonder how much of this is the result of his not releasing his taxes. Journalists are having to dig through the ancillary material relating to his finances that is public record in order to try to answer their questions. Probably some of this would have come out anyway but was hiding the time bombs in his taxes worth facing the deep digging that is currently going on?

I am afraid that the IRS has been effectively neutered by the bogus ā€œscandalā€ over supposedly targeting conservative groups ā€“ more tempest in a teapot than Teapot Dome, but every bit as salient as emails and Benghazi out in the fever swamps ā€“ and the loony push to impeach John Koskinen.

I really canā€™t see anyone inside the IRS daring to open an active investigation of the Republican Presidential nominee in this environment.

I think it works both ways ā€“ reporters have been forced (and maybe motivated) to dig on their own because he wonā€™t release his returns. Conversely, these kind of revelations probably have a lot to do with WHY he will not release his taxes ā€“ because he knows thereā€™s probably a hundred more arrangements even more shady than this one and his foundationā€™s slush fund.

Again, Trump earns the title of Americaā€™s Biggest Douche Bag, but the Cuban embargo was a really stupid policy. He shouldnā€™t have violated it, but itā€™s high time we normalized relations with Cuba; canā€™t wait to go down there.

We probably donā€™t want to go thereā€¦

Sounds a lot like Cheney and Halliburton ā€“ ā€œEmbargo? Oh, thatā€™s okay ā€“ weā€™ll just create a shell corporation outside U.S. jurisdiction to handle those sales.ā€

Republican scumbags are all the same.

Assuming we survive this round of Russian Roulette, thatā€™s going to be an interesting dilemma for Peter Thiel in 2024, or whoever the next Republican rich guy candidate is. Because they, all of them, Romney, Trump, and all their enablers and imitators, really seem hell-bent on turning back the clock on releasing tax returns.

ETA: Youā€™d think itā€™d be easier to just buy a clean politician as a sock puppet, like Foster Friess or the Kochs and avoid the problem altogether. But I suppose that route has its own headaches.
