Discussion: Report: Trump Annoyed That Zinke Exempted Florida From Drilling Program

Trump has signaled to Zinke that he’s unhappy with him

A new and 50%-more-abusive nickname?

And since Florida has been claimed exempt, other coastal states can sue the US government for exemption.

Yet another example of how his cabinet has zero respect for the Shit-gibbon in Chief…

Was DT irked, annoyed and unhappy because Zinke was undermining the White House agenda on energy independence or was he irked, annoyed and unhappy because Zinke was stealing the spotlight and being praised by Florida governor Scott?

I predict Rinky-Dinky Zinke.

One is left to wonder what could possibly be the downside of drilling offshore Florida. After all oil companies claim that they are very environmentally conscious. Could they have been lying all this time? Hhmmmm

Donnie could never come up with it, but a particularly caustic insult for wannabe cowboys is “crupper” - the part of the saddle that loops around a horse’s ass and frequently needs (thorough) cleaning.

Stinky Zinke ??

So, cabinet members make unilateral decisions without consulting the WH and its chief “deal maker?”

They don’t even consult their own department staffers/lawyers. Exempting a state on the fly like that opened the door to a million challenges to the new policy.

The good news for me here is, I won’t have to suffer through Trump visiting Florida to campaign for Scott during the midterms. Scott was quick to see which way the wind was blowing on this one…and the reminder that we are just now starting to divvy out the BP money no doubt served as a constant reminder. (And yeah, that is turning into a whole series of boondoggles).

There are two primary kinds of bad managers (and I use that word advisedly with respect to Trump). You’ve probably worked for both. The first wants to micromanage everything, and slows down every decision. The second purports to care only about the “big picture” but second-guesses every decision that’s been delegated to subordinates, after it has been made. Trump is the second, although to say he sees the big picture would be a gross overstatement.

You think TRump is pissed, how about the Kochsuckers, they
paid Republicans $500,000,0000 for those drilling rights??

With Trump it’s never what’s efficient and environmentally sustainable. To him it’s bigly oil derricks meaning there are manly men working on them.
Note what Trump said with the Norwegian PM.
He blurted out “Hillary wanted windmills”
The man has had a obsessive hatred of wind power since Scotland wanted to place them off shore from his golf course.

Florida is unique? That’s special. Zinke stepped in it bigly and with Zinke Trump.

Too bad no one has to take a civics exam or prove they are human before ‘serving’ in government.

Run for office- the 2018 elections are 10 months away! And if Trump and Louie Gohmert and Steve King can get elected what’s to stop a qualified candidate? And do you REALLY want another Trump appointee to the Supreme Court!

Become a Precinct Committee Officer, sometimes it’s a Ward officer. You’ll meet with neighborhood Dems and get out the vote. Find good citizens willing to run for office.

Register people to vote. If you need to help people overcome the GOP-led Voter run-around help them do that.

Run for School Board. Make sure Civics is being properly taught. Think a majority of America knows how government works? Just 26% of eligible voters in America voted for Trump and half of eligible voters stayed home last November. Today’s 12-year olds will be voting for President in 8 years.

Run for Mayor, City Council, County Commissioner, Borough Assembly.

Get appointed to your Planning Commission. Know everything going on in your community.

Run for State Legislature or Congress. The next census is in 2020, just a year and a half from now, when we redraw Congressional Districts. And Trump is ALREADY trying to rig the census!

And get rid of GERRYMANDERING! Safe GOP seats gave us such intellectual giants as Louie Gohmert and Steve King. In most cases it’s the state Legislature that draws Congressional boundaries. Make it FAIR, OPEN and HONEST! We can do this!

Overturn Citizens United. Money is NOT speech and Corporations are NOT people- at least not until Texas executes one, and overturn any voter ID laws that are clearly an attempt to disenfranchise the poor and people of color.

Lucky Georgia and Carolina. Ya’all enjoy the coming oil spills. They’re gonna be yuuuuge!

A little of the latter, but I think Trump was bothered most by the concept of his administration doing a favor for Florida and getting nothing specific in return.

I’m surprised that Donnie was ‘annoyed’ (if this isn’t a fake-news leak) , since a big platform within sight would hurt real estate values.

I can’t help but think that Zinkie is currying favor all on his own. Florida, and certainly the UT anti-public lands coalition are getting special treatment.

We need to keep an eye on this one.
