I have a pact with my brothers: When we get together (which isn’t often, thank goodness), we do not speak politics. There are a couple words they are not allowed to use around me, nor are they allowed to take cracks at President Obama – whom, they’ve actually started giving grudging respect!
For a number of years, I didn’t even speak with my brothers. It was very sad because I truly love them a hell of a lot … but their politics are just fucking stupid. Even my Dad (rest is soul) couldn’t understand them. My Dad was a die-hard Democrat and he and I got along quite well when it came to politics.

What this report is describing is nothing less than a conspiracy by Congressional leaders and unnamed NSA agents to subvert the US Presidential election process.
As impeachment is out of the question, who will demand these traitors’ resignation?

Impeachment isn’t out of the question when used appropriately - namely the legislative branch removing from office a member of the executive or judicial branches.
Legislators don’t impeach each other, as all it takes for a member of either house to be expelled is a majority vote of that house.

I guess I’m lucky in that my immediate family at least are all solid Democrats so the only fights on that end are stuff like Obama vs Hillary during the primary. It’s, some of, the cousins on my mom’s side that are the main problem.

Someone I know from SLC has a similar situation, but even more confusing. He and his siblings were raised Mormon. Both of his brothers are gay. One moved to SF and is liberal. The other stayed in SLC and is a conservative Republican. Still can’t help but liken that to being a pro-Nazi Jew.

While tight-lipped observers watched for over a year, waiting for the inevitable gory burst.
Deeming Democratic candidates, their donors, and fair elections to be an acceptable sacrifice.
Yet, presumably, the hackers had no curiosity whatsoever about the Republican Party.

Yes, you are very fortunate, indeed. I am a loner now. My Mom (love her very much!) is a pretty soft Democrat, easily swayed by crap – especially now that my Dad isn’t there to keep her better informed. My youngest brother is a “libertarian.” He is not voting for Trump, very likely Johnson. My sister … I doubt she even votes. My two older brothers are usually solidly Republican, but they are sounding more and more like they’re just gonna sit on their thumbs … which I’m encouraging.

You might want to review the Wikileaks data dump of information also, since it contained a TON of personal information about donors, including CC information and Social Security numbers.

I hear ya. I’ve had discussions–very frustrating ones–with a few gay Republicans over the years. A few years ago, someone my brother tried to hook me up with (an old school mate of his that I remembered … even thought he was cute, nice, etc.). We talked a few times over the phone (we live half a state apart). I think I scared the shit out of him. I swear I was nice and didn’t let the full me come through since I really didn’t know him, etc., but when he started telling me what a great guy New Gingrich was (I asked if he was joking me) and that he felt Newt would make a great president (this was in 2012), I told him my thoughts on Newt … which weren’t very nice or positive. I asked him, leaving aside all the Clinton years, what he thought of Newt’s treatment of his lesbian sister, Candace and gay rights in general. I swear, I will never be able to fully understand how folks like him can just sweep all that away. Well, yes, partly: $$$. But money can’t explain it all. There’s a heavy dose of self-hatred in there as well. I haven’t spoken with him since 2012. LOL. His loss.

I don’t know where the Democratic Party would get my SS # - it has nothing to do with my credit card information, which I purposely tell them not to save. I just figure there is a record of it anyway, along with my address and phone number.
