Discussion: Report: Texas Investigating Notary Who Stamped Approval On Stormy Daniels NDA

Jackson told the News Friday that she didn’t recall the document and declined to be interviewed, the paper said. (Notary Erica Jackson)

O Fuck - Did Michael Cohen use this woman’s notary stamp without her knowledge? That would be major time illegal and make the document null and void. Period.

ETA: Per @ncsteve, if this happened, it would not invalidate the underlying contract – just make it more difficult to authenticate. Thanks, ncsteve!

When notarizing a document, unless a notary personally knows the person, the notary will require a drivers license or other valid forms of ID to determine if the person signing the document matches the name on the valid ID. Apparently, PP and DD forgot to bring their PP and DD drivers license.

How DO you notarize a document that uses fake names?

You don’t.

lol

I mean, I suppose you could if you “a/k/a’d” their name in the jurat, but that sort of ruins the whole point of using the fake names, no?

No matter how explosive this story might get, it’s but a tiny window into one of the “real true news” stories that hang on Trump like fetid rats.

We can’t begin to imagine the perversion Donald Trump has been part of in his life.

Among other things, Trump paled around with some of the world’s biggest drug dealers. The fact or the fake news that he himself abstains from consuming drugs is irrelevant. Trump knows these guys, and he’s not busting them.

Instead he’s prancing around like a peacock pretending he’s the bad ass sheriff over drug dealers.

Trump is sick. He lies constantly.

So, I guess the Arbitrator who presumably issued a decision enjoining Daniels from disclosure must have failed to review the document?

John Barron would have never gotten into this mess.

Does this affect the validity of the agreement in any way?

A false or improper notary stamp wouldn’t invalidate the underlying contract. It just makes it harder to authenticate.

No.

With someone else’s notary stamp?

If so, that would call into question just wtf this arbiter did (read: how much did s/he take from Cohen to rule in his favor?).

Trump is a shitty businessman who hires shitty lawyers.

And (at least in Texas) the Notary must enter all of this in their transaction logs.

This was one of those things that came up during the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance petition trial – at certain churches, the notary was pre-stamping petition pages prior to them being filled out… one of the many fraudulent things that the Republicans did to torpedo the ordinance.

What Trump really fears (at least insinuated by Joan Walsh according to Josh): that Daniels is going to reveal to the world he’s a bottom. And NOT a “power bottom.”

It will be fun once the Media starts looking into it and asking her/him.
