LOL…you guys are no fun. It was right there in the article.

Who would Jesus hang from a tree and pee on?

Trump wants to re-open them. Can’t you just see him as an inhabitant?

Alternate spelling: covfefe?

First things first, someone needs to beat shit out of Alex Jones in a parking lot. Wait, that’s already been done.

Sidethorn.com alleges that dozens of mass casualty events are “Department
Of Homeland Security Capstone Exercises & U.N. Drills” and offers a
$100,000 reward from “proof of death” for the events. Phone and email
messages to Side Thorn went unanswered Tuesday.

I’m guessing that guy doesn’t actually have $100K to offer.

I blame Christianity or at least the dumbass form of it that bas-Protestantism condones.

I’m just happy that they’ve outed themselves as the hypocrites they are and have permanently ceded their self-proclaimed moral high ground.

American christians are neither.

This is an unprecedented level of dementia. The person who said this should not be allowed out of an institution.

This Pastor is trying to live up to the example of Christ - turning the other cheek. If someone I loved had been a victim, I don’t believe I would have had the spiritual strength to not punch the guy’s lights out in response.

This grieving father gives us a better example of what being a Christian should be than a whole room of Trump’s Evangelicals.

What seems odd is that these two conspiracy crackpots (Ussery and Mann) think that a Baptist church in a small town in Texas is on the ruse. You would think, too, that they would ask a few local residents if they knew the families of the deceased and perhaps attended the funerals.

They can’t risk puncturing their epistemic closure bubble. Otherwise, they might end up like that guy who discharged his gun at the Comet Pizza, where he discovered that the “facts” he had been following didn’t quite line up with reality. These people likely have carefully set up their delusion and any facts that could disabuse them of their bizarre notions could upset their already delicate psyches.

Does scan very similar doesn’t it, and you can bet a player in the professional wrestling show like Trump would know it. Just the kind of mistransliteration one would expect of the ever-careless Manchurian Mango too.

I firs saw the term while reading the article How Wrestling Explains Alex Jones and Donald Trump and thought it very apt viz

Alex Jones’s audience adores him because of his artifice, not in spite of it. They admire a man who can identify their most primal feelings, validate them, and choreograph their release. To understand this, and to understand the political success of other figures like Donald Trump, it is helpful to know a term from the world of professional wrestling: “kayfabe.”

covfefe = kayfabe. Works for me, good catch.

Not mine. Suggested first by another poster whose name I do not recall. The notion kept making more and more sense to me.

One good man with a sock full of sand, wielding it like a soft club across the skulls of these abusive deplorables, would slightly ease the burden of grief born by many. I’m not advocating their death, but I do think that sand is likely the only way to place a little sense back into their atrophied minds.

This begs the question: Sutherland is in rural, heavily rural, Texas. WHY would people like Reverend Pomeroy and the rest of the parishioners fake this? Not ultra-libtard Connecticut, I should think, but NOT true-RED Texas.

This is like the people that have harassed some of the Sandy Hook families. Disgusting.

The Reverend believes Ussery (?) believes it; so what? He has the God-given right to be ‘wrong’ but not any right to inflict these cuckoo ideas on others. Especially those who have suffered like Reverend Pomeroy.

Not often enough.

And nothing can change his mind.

A pretty extreme but typical example of conservative indoctrination. It isn’t any one conspiracy theory that makes the conservative movement successful in media. It isn’t even the bunch of conspiracy theories.

It’s teaching their followers to believe in the certainty of their ignorance. Just… what did Trump say?

Double down.

This pastor is also not lacking in the bravery department. These people look like they’re about to add “squeal like a piggy, boy!” to their rantings. I suspect his calm response is a combination of his faith and the fact that 20+ of his friends and parishioners were shot down in cold blood by one of the Squeal Boy’s fellow travelers.
