Discussion: Report: Shots Fired At Investigators At Plane Crash Site In Ukraine

Discussion for article #225253

Might be a good time to bring in the drones and clear the area. These investigators have every right to investigate this crime against humanity. Any resistance from the rebels needs to be dealt with using extreme prejudice. They’ve cashed in their membership cards to the human race.

These sorry fucks need to be arrested and thrown in prison. I hear Russia has some in Siberia that would suffice.

Vlad…you say what?

That’s the problem with using “militia” groups in other countries…

…the chain of command gets a bit iffy and orders are considered more like suggestions.

Way to go Putin. Give some crazies all the cool guns and toys they want and light the fuse on their nationalism, or in this case, anti-nationalism I think…what could go wrong? Already saw one story that the black-boxes were missing…true or not, this is going to be a nightmare to investigate.

My guess is that the flight data recorders have already been removed–or will be soon by the separatists, or Russian “advisers.”. When/if the investigators ever get on site, it will be in such a limited way, and the site will be so compromised that no strong evidence will be gathered.

There isn’t all that much to investigate at the crash site now anyways, particularly if the black box has been spirited it away (it probably has. The Russian rebels were all over the site yesterday).

They freaking twitted about it!! And then went through every lame excuse always used for embarrassing tweets…while urgently taking it down.

The only question is, how involved were actual Russian troops? Powers statement at the UN makes me think we have something solid on the front.

Because innocent parties always attempt to thwart investigations.

Bundy has relatives in Ukraine?

Those posturing fantasists with their metal death penises are about to get stomped flat. Ain’t no need of drones. We have specialists for this kind of thing.

Don’t think Russia will be sending any rebels to Siberia. Maybe to another front.

I think Josh’s comment that these are the Russian/Ukrainian version of Tea Partiers is pretty on point.

Now we have a pretty good idea of what might happen if the Mountain Militia crazies such as the Bundy ranch debacle ever got their hands on a Mobile SAM platform.

I think I’d have to start taking the train. Is THIS the new reality for air travel? Are we going to have to start flying over the north pole for every single trip? Last I heard there was no fighting among the Inuit…

There were Brits aboard. The SAS is probably already en route

It seems the evidence is going to come mostly from radar data & possibly missile fragments from the scene. If you assume normal operation until missile impact, the box may show the location of the impact via which systems failed first or it may just show a catastrophic cut-off of everything.

Or even in allowing militia groups in your own country.

Pretty much the equivalent of the Nazi SA and the Viet Cong. Once their usefulness is realized, they will be “retired.”

Hardly. These may be irregulars, but they are being, at the very least, overseen by Russian military command.

It’s fairly trivial to determine location of impact, and size of explosion, even if the plane is in tiny pieces (which it is). These investigators know what they’re doing. It’s not exactly easy to cover this up, unless the rebels keep all investigators far away (which is, in itself, suspicious).
