And the results will be “worse” and “worser”…
Bad and Badder.
Fucked-up and Fucked-upper.
Screw-the-poor-and-old and Skewer-the-poorer-and-older.
Two versions?
I hope the CBO comes back with “shitty” and “shittier”. At least, it’d be on a level even Trump would understand.
Axios…Is that Mike Allen’s newish outfit? ick, never visited it.
I’m guessing the Senate GOPers put their more dramatic cost shifting to the out years, beyond which the CBO doesn’t score…and that’s how they’ll be able to fudge the numbers a bit here and there.
Its still the same lousy bill.
McTraitor has his orders from the Mercers, Kochs, etc. so on he plods. If you have the chance to talk to your Senators this weekend let them know this is a bad bill and it will impact how you vote and you will tell others to vote against them in the future if they vote for this bill.
The Fourth of July is going to be a sad day for me this year.
Rigor and Mortis?
Is the CBO working on the holiday weekend?
Only two?
With seven years of planing they should have many more then two.
Is it reasonable to expect an answer in just a few days?
What is the usual time for a response on a major budget item?
Seems to me that the CBO could take a month and that would be justified.
CBO: 21 million will lose coverage.
Hack Journalists: GOP provides health insurance to additional 1 million.
MCConnell has been sending parts of the health care bill to the CBO to score for some time now. When they cobbled together the parts, they already had some idea what the final score would be. NEw changes won’t take as long to score as a whole brand new bill.
I think senate rules also require a CBO score before a vote. But I don’t think McConnell really CARES what the score is as long as he can pass it with a simple majority.
Except that the Democrats can ask the CBO for an analysis beyond 10 years, as they did for the latest atrocity – which is how we learned that the number of people it’d kick off insurance isn’t 22 million, but 32 million… The Dems have been pretty on-top of this thing (I think it was Chris Murphy who asked for the extended analysis, though I assume these moves are at least loosely coordinated); I imagine they’ll continue to be.
BTW, anybody have any senators who aren’t seeing constituents on this break? Bet they’ll be showing up at an Independence Day parade or two; why don’t you drop by and make sure to say hello? Maybe bring a sign or something. And some friends and family. And don’t forget to give your local media a heads-up about what you’ll be doing and where…
So they claim the CBO has no idea what it’s doing and/or that the CBO score is biased against them – and then ask the CBO to provide scores for two different proposals so they can compare the two meaningless and/or biased scores?
Gee, it’s almost as if they’re totally full of crap.
This is McConnell’s “fuck you” to Ted Cruz.
Two side-by-side CBO scores will highlight what Cruz’s amendment will do. And McConnell knows exactly what that will be - more devastation in the individual market. He’s not gonna do anything that might make Cruz look good.
I think the WH is bluffing. McConnell is going through these motions to buy time to go either way, but his body language and words suggest that he’s looking for the exit. Tough to pass a bill with under 20% support for a President who is hapless with respect to the legislative process.
GOP Moderates Always Cave.
I guess there’s a chance they’ll show some loyalty to their country, but I’m not counting on it. Because there’s somewhere between half a trillion and a trillion dollars in tax cuts for the rich at stake.
