Where’s the Capitol Police and the FBI?
(I believe that the Capitol Police protect members even away from the Capitol–but someone out there knows more about that than me.)
OK, Republicans, this is one of those moments when you have to decide: Do you stand up for one of your colleagues, or do you tacitly support this ugly racist intimidation of a sitting congresswoman through your silence? Waiting…
Trump:
(half-hearted tone)
"Ummmm, people…um… Please stop. I guess.
But I know you’re fine people "
The Trump Effect.™
Fine people on both sides. When you consider that questioning even one word of the administration’s statements is equivalent to treason, death threats – not that he would approve of anything bad happening, well not anything that bad – are really a perfectly reasonable response. Some of the best people have made death threats.
I’m sure Speaker Ryan will be out front to condemn… never mind.
Maybe Scott Pruitt could loan her a few security agents from his growing group.
I’ll put money on if he says anything at all it’ll be some variation of, “Well I don’t condone violence or threats, but she really shouldn’t have been talking about it.”
Just curious. How many death threats did Joe Wilson receive after he falsely accused President Obama of lying during a nationally televised SOTU speech?
Yep. “Rep. Wilson really should have considered the fact that she’s a Democrat…and a woman…and black, before telling the truth about the so-called president. She should have known better. She brought it all on herself, and anything that happens to her is really her own fault.”
“She’s home,” Hastings told the Herald. “I have not spoken with her about it, but I’ve heard that she’s received substantial death threats and I think she is doing everything she can to ratchet down and let some of us, including me, take over.”
So people who laugh at Beauregard Sessions are arrested and Frederica Wilson gets death threats and "some" of them are looked into? Sickening.
And, as far as I know, Kelly hasn’t said a word since his slanderous remarks against the Congresswoman which fanned the flames Trump initiated, resulting in this firestorm. Really gutless move by Kelly, I’m truly sorry to say.
Trump is probably beyond excited to see this happening because it shows his reach. He was able to incite his disgusting supporters into threatening this lady over something that he was wrong for doing. This is unbelievable.
As of now, the Trumpinistas own the people making the death threats. They could rid themselves of that ownership by speaking out against the threats and investigating the more substantial ones, but why would they want to when the outcome of silencing dissenting voices is exactly what they want.
He emboldens the crazy and the hatred, doesn’t he. Stay safe Rep. Wilson.
Meanwhile, spurred on no doubt by his bud Alex Jones, the conspiracygunnutters are harassing and chasing off of social media some of the victims of the Las Vegas massacre.
They’re republicans. their brains are so damaged they don’t rise things like “decide”. They’re insipid, selected for believing insipid things that don’t threaten the great exploitative money power. Don’t ever make the mistake of expecting even the semblance of moral fiber from them.
Not to mention what she was wearing.
Republicans have decided, long ago, when they adopted an ultra irresponsible strategy of stoking faux white grievance. The extreme dysfunction so obvious on the right today isn’t due to the rise of Trump, rather, Trump’s rise is due to that pre-existing dysfunction.
I so wish some of these Trumpism goons would get nailed by the FBI. And those threatening journalists.
