GOP wonât release 800,000 hostages without some white nationalist bullshit first. Story at 11.
No âregular orderâ for you!
What would Ayn do?
An unnamed source familiar with the groupâs creation told Politico âit was just one part of a larger look at the matter,â including efforts to work with Democrats.
If they wanted to work with Democrats why arenât there any Dâs in the group grope.
What is it about the regular committee process that Ryan and McConnell donât like? Their are bills that have been drafted and if not already should, if they have not already, be assigned to a standing committee. That committee should hold hearings and markup sessions and the bill should be reported out. If there is another committee of jurisdiction the same process should be repeated until finally passed to the floor according the the standard procedures of either the House or Senate.
All these special study groups are a tool that has been employed by the Republicans to allow them to draft legislation in the dark without the public being able to monitor the process.
Just like the blood sucking vampires they are the Republicans can not function in the light of day
According to Politico, members of Ryanâs legislative working group will include: House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA); Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA); Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX); Rep. John Carter (R-TX), who chairs that committeeâs appropriations subcommittee; Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID); Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI); Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL); Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) and Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ).
plus: at least he learned from the McConnell debacle.
minus: Goodlatte backs the border wall.
The same Hastert-rule bullshit. Trumpâs contribution to the political system is his involving Dems in the process. The Repubs canât do anything alone â whatever can get through just the House GOP canât survive in the Senate; and possibly vice-versa.
The only way to legislate these days is work on something that can get enough moderate Dems and Repubs to render the fascist GOP irrelevant. It might cost Ryan his job (as it cost Boehner his), but thatâs the price of governing these days.
How could they not come up with a great solution?
Because nothing says power politics like âad hoc working groupâ.
The ad hoc working group has reached a decisionâŚ
(yesterday) McConnell Tells Trump: Send Congress Your DACA Proposal âŚ
(today) So much for McTurtle threats from the âpowerful rebublican leaderâ
(now) WeinerMobileBoy creates the AHDACAWG of GOP rocket scientists with motto âdedicated to getting nowhere quicklyâ
That didnât last real freakinâ long
The make up of such a group will tell us everything. If it is moderate Tuesday Group members, the deal is coming, if itâs Freedom Caucus idiots, Ryan is putting on a show to thwart a deal. Heâs a slippery one, but quite thick-skulled, so I doubt heâs wily enough to be very effective.
The group is listed in the article. Those are mostly not fire eaters. This is totally Ryan trying to save face. Heâs completely lost control of the issue and there are definitely enough votes in the House to pass a DACA bill. Heâs just trying to get in front of this so it doesnât come to the floor with a discharge petition, because THAT would mean the end of his career as Speaker. Trump really, really cut his throat.
âNow who can argue with that? I think weâre all indebted to Gabby Johnson Paul Ryan for clearly stating what needed to be said. Iâm particulary glad that these lovely children were here today to hear that speech. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.â

Donât ad hoc the family jewels betting this is going anywhere.
Bite her tongue and accept Social Security checks?
It may be the price of governing and it might work. IF rethugs believed in government.
