It’s probably for the best. On the other hand, they’ll probably pass a number of ACA repeals.
So…the ‘problem’ is really NOT who is ‘leader’ but who can corral the jerks in the Senate that are determined to do nothing? Oops…is ‘corral’ unfair to HORSES? Are people like Cruz and Lee just voting (or not) their consciences and the rest of us are ‘unfair’? Good lord.
Maybe voters will help poor old Uncle Yertl this November by taking a plunger to this Senate. be nice to also use the plunger over in the house. It’s been blocked up since 2010
All according to plan. Step 1: Break congress. Step 2: Complain that congress is broken. Step 3: Convince the rubes that it’s the Dems fault. Step 4: Repeat.
McConnell is now waiting on the reading of the Voters’ Will and promised to put into action his promise for this year next year as Senate Minority Leader…
So they’re treating all Senate business like the Supreme Court nominee – they can’t do anything without letting the people making their wishes known first. Pseudo-lame-duck everyone!
As of today, the House will only be in session for 65 days! That’s right, 8 months left in the year and the House will only be working 65 of those days!
If the Black man in the White House couldn’t be stopped (i.e., a one term president) then they damn as sure were going to make sure no legislation was happening. None. Now that the country has, indeed, shifted demographically, they wanted to make sure that nothing positive could come out of this.
Punish those who enable the demographic change so that, next time, they know the correct masters to vote for.
Step 3: Convince the rubes that it’s **Obama’s fault.
There FIFY
…but he’s keeping his promise to make Obama a 2-term President.
The first half of the 20th century, things happened, roads and bridges got built, manufacturing dominated this country, etc. Democrats ran the congress and the White House for much of that time. The reason nothing gets done any more is obvious.
The McConnell Senate is on track to work 124 days this year. Heck, that’s more than two days a week. What does the taxpayer expect for a meager $174,000 salary and $3.2 million Official Personnel and Office Expense Account.
If they’re going to refuse to do their jobs, we ought to adjust their pay-scales accordingly.
Imagine a world where Congressional Representatives and Senators are paid the federal minimum wage, hourly.
Surprise! They accomplish nothing. Absolutely. Zilch. Zero.
It might be good to ask your Pubbie Senator, if you have one, why, with all the problems the Pubbies say the United States is facing, why this Pubbie controlled Senate session is on track to be the least productive Senate session in over half a century. Didn’t Pubbies say in the last election that they would show the American people what real leadership was?
Much obliged.
